Thursday night was 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and see our new office space. We loved having you all there! The night was filled with fun, laughter, and some seriously impressive gaming skills. 🕹️

It was great to see our team and guests mingling and having a good time. We want to give a huge shoutout to our team for making this party happen and for all their hard work in creating the best mobile games out there. You guys are amazing!

Meet Miki! Our IT specialist. 🚀

Miki, who has been playing with computers a lot since he was little, has been with us for over a year now. World Of Warcraft in particular started taking up the lion's share of his free time when he was in high school. He laughs and says: "I might have even missed school a few times because of it." Talk about dedication to gaming! 🎮

After high school and a few years of music projects, he got the feeling that he wanted to do something different with his life. A cup of coffee with a family friend working in IT changed the game (pun intended), as they introduced him to the world of coding.

The best part of the job for him is tweaking computers and servers. "I really like messing around with Linux. The best thing here anyway is a certain relaxedness and sense of humor, this really is a place that's a lot of fun to come to". One wild thing he's achieved this year is writing his own http server a couple of months ago. "Lots of stuff that I didn't actually even think I could do a year ago".

A couple of fun facts to finish this off: from Baltasar's aphorisms to Mao's biography, this guy reads a lot. And as a teenager he was the captain of the hottest hockey team in East-Helsinki, until bass playing became more interesting than hockey.

How about that Playstation 5 you got last week - "Actually, it's still in the box, maybe next weekend!"

You as a designer are able to create and evaluate concepts and ideas quickly, and have a passion for clear core gameplay and design. For the last team day of the year, Lightneer Crew headed to Villa Stenberg in Lohja to celebrate Christmas.

Activities included:

🍷 Glögi tasting 🍷
💽 Game song competition, prizes for top
🎅 Secret Santa: Everyone invented their own voucher to give each other
🀄 We went old school with board games
🍛 Mouth-watering food dinner from Kristian Perkola
🧖‍♀️ Hot tub and sauna
🌙 Some employees stayed over night at the villa

What a great way to bond and ring in the rest of the year.

He joined Lightneer in early November, and as Growth Director he is responsible for Soft Launch to make great products, while building a Data Driven Performance Marketing Team, among other things.

Our team usually consists of 3-4 people, including a Designer, a Developer and an Artist.

Our Design Lead Sofia says development and learning are extremely important in both game design and teamwork. "You learn things just by talking, it's important to look back at projects and think about what could have been done differently. Something new always comes up.”
