The day before the event, I went to check the venue to make sure everything was ready. Prophetess Naomi was there and said the place was more spacious than the original location they wanted to use. I asked about security, and she assured me they would be there by 8 am. I told her and the team that Ibadan was different from other places they had been to, so I promised to provide 200 guys who would hand out tickets to the children. Initially, Naomi hadn’t planned to use tickets, but I arranged for 5,500 tickets to be printed.

The next day, I got to the venue at 5:45 am and saw a huge crowd. Roads were blocked, and mothers had started throwing their kids over the fence. The event was supposed to start at 10 am, and security was meant to arrive at 8 am. I tried asking everyone to go home, but no one listened.

By 5:45 am, over 2,000 mothers had thrown their kids over the fence, and I was told they had been doing it since 4 am. Although we expected 5,000 kids, Naomi rented 7,000 chairs, as I had advised her to prepare for the mothers who would bring their children. By 7 am, chaos started. One mother threw her child over the fence, thinking someone would catch him, but the child hit his head on the ground and tragically died.
