When I was booking the Red Box at Space for Burlington Project we had the patronage of Casio. Burlington Project was a really cool initiative that Casio invested in to nurture electronic music culture, focussing on underground scenes and upcoming artists. It allowed me to book some really interesting artists at Space. One of those bookings was a French band called dOP that were on the rise, I was hearing the music they were making and knew they had something special. I invited them to come and perform in the little Red Box and it was one of the maddest gigs we ever did. We had to brief security not to intervene as some of the performance could be deemed erm… risqué . Darren Hughs came to see them perform. Darren generally holds court in the Terrace dj booth, he rarely ventured into the Red Box but he saw them perform and told me it was one of the best performances he had ever seen… and Darren has seen it all. They are classically trained jazz musicians from a tough part of Paris, the energy of their show is punk rock but the music is electric soul with a dirty funk. We are hosting this event with my brother from another mother Paul Loraine and his Rhythm Cult label (which has been blowing up recently). Our mutual friend Fancesco Mami is flying in to play the terrace and we have London party legends and distilled energy queens U OK HUN in the bathtub club. These girls hosted the disco bogs in Sankeys and Octan for me back in that day, if you know, you know :-) . So yeah I am very excited about this next party, we have some very potent ingredients for a FIESTON!

It’s been an emotional season, the foundation of Vitalik Studios has been a huge dream realised and not since the heady days of Space and The End had we seen Vitalik events. I want to say a huge thank you to Sarah Broadbent for giving us our monthly residency at Pikes. I think we contributed something special, embracing the island upcoming talent and showcasing artists from the label and the studios. We hold our final event of the summer 2022 on Friday 30th of September with Funk D'Void, Paul Loraine, Lanty Jackson, Mills, Juan Amigo and myself Ryan O Gorman.
