On August 28th, 1955, Heidegger delivered a lecture in Cerisy-la-Salle, Normandy, titled Was ist das – die Philosophie?, a text of about 30 pages that would be published the following year as a book. It was meant to be an "introduction to a dialogue" that took place immediately after the lecture. The result was nine days of conversations between numerous participants, including such important philosophers as Gabriel Marcel, Paul Ricœur, Julián Marías, Kostas Axelos, Walter Biemel, Alexis Philonenko, Maurice de Gandillac, Lucien Goldmann, and Jean Beaufret.
In 2022, all the interventions that took place over these nine days were published in volume 91 of the Gesamtausgabe. It consists of nearly 150 pages of lectures, debates with contemporary philosophers, and notes that had never been published before.
The central themes, chosen by the participants, are numerous: Greek philosophy, Christian philosophy, Descartes, Kant, Hegel, the relationship between philosophy and science, Heideggerian philosophy, etc.
Volume XIV of Studia Heideggeriana aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the lecture Was ist das – die Philosophie? by inviting all interested authors to contribute with papers on this lecture, on the subsequent dialogue, or on the topics raised by both Heidegger and the attendees of that congress. Contributions may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
Studia Heideggeriana, in its "open section," also accepts articles not related to the monographic theme of the volume.
