This gull is using the turtle in the Mediterranean Sea as both a resting spot and a vantage point to scout for food, a common opportunistic behavior.

Gulls conserve energy while staying alert for fish or other prey. If you look closely in the video, you’ll see a school of small fish swimming directly under the turtle for protection, using its size as a shield from potential predators.

Victoria’s Riflebirds always practice their complex courtship dance before performing in front of a female, spreading their velvety black wings and flashing iridescent feathers.

The male rehearses sidestepping, head tilting, and rapid wing flicking to perfect his moves. Precision is vital, as any mistake during the real performance could cost him his chance at attracting a mate.

Swans usually stay with family members or groups, and this swan’s family has been followed for a couple of years in this lake. The rest of the group may be nearby, as they are typically found around here.

The lone swan’s loud sounds and wing flapping could be attempts to call for its group or express discomfort. With no other swans in sight, it’s likely reacting to the isolation and trying to communicate.

The Juvenile Emperor Angelfish displays stunning colors and patterns to confuse predators and blend into the coral reefs they inhabit.

Their vivid hues come from specialized cells called chromatophores, which contain pigments that reflect light.

As they mature, their appearance gradually shifts into vibrant yellow and blue stripes. These designs not only provide camouflage but also help in communication with other species nearby.

Sea butterflies are small marine snails that glide through the water using their wing-like fins. They live in the open ocean, mostly in cold and temperate waters, drifting with the currents.

Their bodies are often transparent. Though they have small shells, they frequently extend out of them to move and feed.

A male polar bear was observed roaming the sea ice, scanning cracks for seals. After an unsuccessful attempt to approach seals outside their breathing hole, he changed strategy, lying down by the hole and waiting for a chance to catch the seal. The bear stayed there patiently for over 12 hours.

After more than 24 hours awake, the observing team had to leave due to exhaustion from long whiteout and challenging days in the Arctic.

This burrowing owlet was exhausted after a morning of eating bugs and exploring, retreating to the burrow for a nap.

Burrowing owls live in open areas across North and South America. They are often active during the day and nest in burrows, either digging their own or taking over those of other animals.

Their diet includes insects, small mammals, and reptiles. They are known for bobbing movements when alarmed and can even mimic rattlesnake sounds to scare off predators.

The pink robin is a small bird found in the forests of southeastern Australia and Tasmania.

Males have a bright pink chest and belly that stand out against their dark grey or black back and wings. Females, however, have more muted grey-brown feathers without the pink coloring.

This allows males to attract mates during the breeding season, while females blend into their surroundings for protection.

The yellow boxfish is a small but resilient fish found in reefs across the Pacific, Indian, and southeastern Atlantic Oceans.

It feeds on marine algae, sponges, tubeworms, crustaceans, and smaller fish. When threatened, it releases ostracitoxin, a powerful toxin to protect itself.

Jaguars typically rest for 12-16 hours a day, often in trees or thick vegetation to avoid heat. This helps them conserve energy, which is crucial for short bursts of power when hunting at night or early morning.

They prefer elevated or hidden spots to stay cool and avoid threats, including other jaguars. Being in a tree also helps them keep watch for potential prey or danger from a safe vantage point.
