Up in the hills above the small town of Sant Josep lies an incredible monument to Ibizan overconfidence, it's name is "Festival Club" - an abandoned 1970s nightclub in the hills near Sant Josep and it is a massive concrete ruin.

It was a spectacularly ambitious development which included a nightclub, another stage a vast open-air restaurant, and even a bullfighting arena. The project relied on bussing tourists from the hotels on San Antonio Bay however it was never economically viable and shut down in 1974 after only operating for three summer seasons.

The Places to Visit in Ibiza - Explore the authentic charms of Ibiza

Punta Grossa Lighthouse was inaugurated in 1870 but had to be closed in 1916 because it was seen that the ideal location for maritime safety was on the islet of Tagomago, where another lighthouse was built. Now it's abandoned but you can get to it.

Boldminds did an interview with Danny Whittle, a true Ibiza dance music scene icon. 🌟 Whittle spent thirteen years working as musical director at Pacha, parting ways with the super club at the end of 2012 and moving to work more with IBZ Entertainment group in 2013. Pacha's popularity in the 2000s is associated with Danny Whittle's name, since he became Pacha musical director and one of the key players in the Ibiza music scene. He is also the co-founder of IMS Ibiza.
