Our Story
Silverfield Villa is an ultra-modern contemporary property in Granada, Spain. It occupies an enviable position close to the historic city of Granada at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The property is massive, covering over 14,000 sq ft with sleeping for 14+ including additional space for up to 9 children, perfect for groups and families. Features include indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool, hot tub, cinema, elevated bar, outdoor deck, office, wine cellar and 360 degree viewing platform.
Access to the villa is easy due to its proximity to Granada airport (10 miles) and Malaga airport (60 miles).
Why Granada?
The owners of Silverfield Villa wanted to create a Spanish property that was exceptional in every way with the ability to provide an exciting destination all year round. The choice of location was therefore of utmost importance.
The two principal cities of Spain (Madrid and Barcelona) were rejected due to their size, traffic issues and difficulty in locating a site that was spectacular. Many of the guests will originate from major cities, we wanted use of Silverfield villa to be an ‘escape’. The many locations along the coast of Spain were also rejected due to their primary use being in the Summer months and the fact that many of these locations have become ‘Little England’ offering little more than cuisine and facilities transplanted along with the rest of British culture.
Granada offers so much more. It is one of the most historic sites in Spain, the location of The Alhambra and many other prime examples of Moorish architecture. It is also served by the Sierra Nevada Ski Station, an extensive resort offering a long season and one of the best ‘days of sunshine’ records in the world. In addition, Granada is the home of tapas and offers some of the best cuisine available anywhere in Spain.
Proximity to several golf courses, excellent airport links, top class Spanish football, excellent nightlife and live entertainment are all additional reasons why Granada was chosen as the location of Silverfield Villa.
The Sierra Nevada mountain range provides a spectacular backdrop to the location of Silverfield Villa. One side of the top viewing deck provides views towards the 11,500 ft mountains (the highest point in continental Spain) while the other offers views to the city of Granada 800 ft below. The position of the villa in Altos de la Zubia is enviable in that access to the city can be achieved by a short 10 minute drive.
Views...
The villa makes extensive use of glass in order to maximise the views available. Floor to ceiling windows provide unobstructed access from living rooms and bedrooms to the outside decking areas and the sights beyond. The picture above shows the view from the main living area towards the outdoor decking and infinity pool. The excellent location looks down over the other spectacular properties in the area and further down to the city of Granada itself. The lights of the city make a wonderful backdrop in the evenings (especially from the hot tub).
Due to the elevated position of the villa, the views are excellent from all sides. The whole property has been designed with this in mind. Looking to the opposite side, guests will see the largest national park in Spain, the foothills of Sierra Nevada and the snow-capped peaks beyond.
Views are available from all floors. A covered deck below the main living area provides open air access as well as a large outdoor decking area on the bedroom level. In addition a smaller open air bar area provides additional height while the ultimate visual point is a 360 degree viewing deck at the very top of the villa.
Interior space...
The interior space of Silverfield Villa has been designed to give an impression of cavernous size. Large floor areas are combined with double and triple height ceilings along with a spectacular open staircase to provide a living area with a truly unique feel. The architect who designed the villa has many years of experience designing contemporary office spaces and we wanted to bring that feeling to the Silverfield.
Companies looking to do brainstorming sessions with senior staff away from the complications of city life will find the villa to be an ideal venue.
Due to the superb weather in the Granada area, the villa has also been designed to combine indoor and outdoor living in a seamless way. Advanced glass technology allows the villa to remain at a comfortable temperature all year round without too much reliance on the computer controlled heating and cooling systems.
The villa is fitted with the latest technology in every area. Distributed AV, high bandwidth computer network, indoor/outdoor wifi, LED lighting and automated home control with touch panel interfaces all combine to provide a ‘space age’ feel to the entire project.
Living and dining area...
The huge living and dining area is surrounded by glass on all sides which creates an additional sense of space. This effect is amplified by the use of high ceilings and a minimal furniture scheme.
Sitting close to the windows gives the guest a feeling that they are floating, surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery Spain has to offer.
The open internal staircase bisects the main living space and sits next to the glass elevator which can carry guests to any level of the villa.
The kitchen facility is on open plan with the living/dining area and is of superb quality. Guests can prepare their own meals or the facility can be used by an external chef or outside catering contractor.
The main living space is equally suited to holiday or professional use with high speed CAT 7 cabled internet coupled to the house network and a highly advanced indoor/outdoor wifi system which provides drop out free internet. The house network is directly connected to a fibre backbone which can easily handle high bandwidth activities such as corporate uploads, video conferencing and AV streaming.
Bedrooms...
The high level of interior finish is extended from the living areas to the bedrooms. The master bedroom in particular is an amazing room set on its own floor.
The master includes sleeping and living areas as well as walk in wardrobes and bathroom. The outside decking area can also be accessed from the gym and spa housed on the same level.
The bathroom is set next to a curved glass wall. Blinds can be opened to provide amazing views of the surrounding hills.
The master bedroom is also equipped with a full AV system and desk space. It is effectively a fully equipped apartment within the villa.
