Fuengirola plans to install more than 1,000 LED public lights 💡💡
👉The new plans, which will be implemented in 16 streets, will give a 40% saving in the electricity cost.
👉The estimated cost is around 770,000 euros.
👉The measure is co-financed by European funds and seeks to improve energy efficiency in Fuengirola.
The new lighting devices will have a remote management system, which allows the intensity of the lighting to be adapted according to a schedule or when finding faults in the lighting network.
The replacement of the current lights with LEDs ones will reduce the consumption by 105.78 tons of oil (equivalent per year) and stop the generation of 473.55 tons of CO2 per year.
📅 The work is due to begin in September 2021 and take 75 days to complete.
“There are many bonanzas from this action, better road safety due to the greater luminosity and visibility that this technology provides, a reduction in the carbon footprint, as well as significant economic savings for the city’s coffers. ” Isabel González, Counsellor.
