The ‘Yoko My Yoko’ single finds the popular DJ/producer hit the sweet spot, with well produced and accomplished sounds on offer. With previous releases for labels such as Einmusika, Katermukke and his very own Lost Diaries label, Miyagi has been on the Supernature radar for some time.
Breezy percussion and enthralling melodies are at the centre of title track “Yoko My Yoko”, as Miyagi builds the atmosphere expertly with layers of tones and gritty bass. “No Place Like X” deploys supple harmonies over hand percussive lead rhythms, its half-time breakdown adding to the drama, whilst “A Kyoto Night” keeps with the themes, offering up a more distinctly reflective and deeper piece.
