On June 1st, 2023, will stage its first ever runway presentation outside of New York City for its Resort 2024 collection in Rio de Janeiro.

“I am thrilled to be staging our first ever show outside of New York in Rio de Janeiro,” says Creative Director Wes Gordon. “It’s an inspiring city for so many reasons. The lively color palette, the unique blend of its universally loved music, the breathtaking Modernist architecture of Oscar Niemeyer, and the exuberance of its traditions, which I have immense respect for. Rio has an extraordinarily rich heritage, diversity and blend of cultural backgrounds. We are a house with Latin origins at heart, and this collection is our chance to explore that DNA from a different geographical and cultural vantage point, out of deep respect and admiration. I look forward to collaborating with local teams to put together this truly special experience.”

With the show slated during sunset on Thursday June 1st at a to-be-announced location, the multi-day activities will culminate with a party celebrating the global launch of the new Good Girl Blush Eau de Parfum.

Carolina Herrera will partner with Spectaculu, a not-for-profit organization founded in Rio de Janeiro offering professional training in creative industries for underprivileged young people.

This show marks a fond return to Brazil for the House of Carolina Herrera. In 2019, founder Carolina Herrera and Beauty Creative Director Carolina A. Herrera visited São Paulo for the launch of Good Girl Dot Drama.

Carolina Herrera is committed to continuing its Fall and Spring runway shows in New York as part of the official New York Fashion Week schedule.

has collaborated with Lebanese jewellery designer , who brings the iconic Bee Bottle into her sumptuously poetic world born out of her avowed passion for Arab culture.

Born in Beirut and based in Dubai, Nadine Kanso started her own jewellery line in 2006, which she called “Bil Arabi". Drawing inspiration from the Arabic alphabet, she created meaningful pieces in a resolutely contemporary, glitzy style with a touch of Middle Eastern flair.

She has designed a new bejewelled ornament as a genuine declaration of love to adorn the Bee Bottle. The word “Love" is etched in calligraphy all around the bottle, then embellished to become a radiantly resounding call to love. This dreamlike creation is gilded with 24-karat fine gold and studded with 1,710 SWAROVSKI crystals, calling upon the most outstanding expertise in jewellery-making. The pieces require twelve hours of meticulous craftsmanship at a French studio, which imparts each one with its unique character.

Réve d'Amour, the exclusive fragrance accompanying the bottle, echoes the creative intention behind the piece. This Eau de Parfum opens with a fresh, vibrant blend of mandarin and petitgrain before revealing a delicately luminous bouquet of white flowers at its heart, all over a sensual base of woody cedar, ambrette and benzoin notes.

Designers Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa of Noon By Noor unveiled their Fall Winter 2023 collection in a physical presentation at LFW today at London’s Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

“For Fall Winter 2023, we began our dialogue with images from the french Illustrator Francois Berthoud and his book titled ‘Facsimile.’ First commissioned by Anna Piaggi for Conde Nast’s Vanity Fair, his work soon appeared in all leading magazines, including Vogue, Numero and Interview.”

“Beautiful high–impact imagery that blends art, fashion and communication created in tones of black, grey, and browns – this was a starting point.”

“Sometimes we are so busy looking outward that we forget to look inward and this season, we also looked at the things surrounding us growing up. Art, culture and the beauty of our home.”

The new season creative – a catwalk film – was captured on the grounds of RAK Art Foundation in Bahrain, a non-profit art gallery founded by Bahraini artist and collector HE Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Originally built in 1930, the converted traditional Bahraini house, where the painter was raised, contains myriad works from international artists and his oeuvre.

Original artwork by Shaikh Rashid titled ‘CUSP’ (2020) set the perfect catwalk backdrop, showing the moment of transition between the sun and the moon, the point where two curves meet. A portrayal of the brand’s love for East meets West. Masculine and feminine, light and shade. The sun and the moon.

Whilst peeling back the layers of his Bloomsbury townhouse, Erdem discovered echoes of the building’s former residents. Sickly arsenic green wallpaper lined one room, long buried by subsequent owners. He found the drawing of a n**e silhouette tucked away in a chimney breast. Evidence of a hatch in the kitchen next to the entrance hall suggested a monitoring of comings and goings, and the outline of a doorway gives a clue that the building was once connected to its neighbour. The old house has secrets. Who are its ghosts and what are their stories that linger still?

In Victorian times, the building was joined to its neighbours to form “A Home of Hope for the Restoration of Fallen Women”, founded in 1860 and active until the early 20th Century. By 1892 the interconnected houses had received 3,216 women through their doors. The majority were temporary residents for whom hope eventually delivered (one hopes). To be admitted to the Home of Hope was to be offered a hand from the brink of falling out of society. The stakes were high.

The Home of Hope was considered a benevolent environment, though records reveal a riot incited in the square by intoxicated residents who had missed their curfew, which might suggest otherwise. Perhaps there is a sense of unravelling revelry in the bones of the house too? Constant footsteps on stairs and floorboards and endless doors opening and closing, induce surreal hallucinations. The women are long since departed, but the imprints and vestiges of their presence remain.
