In Rishi Sunak’s speech at yesterday, he trumpeted his plan for “investing in renewables”. He claimed he was “delivering” on the climate emergency. He unveiled a “major new package” of climate finance.

But what’s the reality? A plan which bans onshore wind and blocks new solar farms.

Which kicks climate ministers out of cabinet, adopts a swathe of new oil & gas licences, and fails to rule out the climate-wrecking Cumbria coal mine.

Which rehashes the £11.6 billion already committed in Glasgow, omits $300 million that we owe to adaptation funds, and totally ignores loss and damage finance.

This isn’t climate leadership.
