We’re looking for a male singer for a role on a new opera production. Good English accent is a must (as the opera is English)

Not necessarily operatic voice, but a good experience with musical theater is required.

Experience with different musical styles is a plus.

Bahaa El-Ansary is a composer and improvisor from Egypt. He studied composition at The Academy of Arts in Cairo, Conservatoire de Bordeaux, and the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt. In 2019 he obtained with distinction a Master of Arts in Opera Making & Writing from the world-renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama in collaboration with Royal Opera House. He is currently a professor of music and ethnomusicology at the American University in Cairo AUC.

He co-founded Cairo Impro, a Free Improvisation series of workshops and concerts, which has been running in Cairo since November 2017, gathering some of Egypt's best improvisors.

Bahaa is a composer who is rooted with Arabic music, he is influenced by a list of master composers’ technique (György Ligeti, Iannis Xenakis, and John Cage) as well as many of Spectral Music and Avant-Garde music techniques. However, All materials in his music are related to Arabic music. Bahaa is composing what he calls “Energetic Music”.

بهاء الأنصاري ملحن ومرتجل من مصر. درس التأليف في أكاديمية الفنون في القاهرة، ومعهد بوردو، ومعهد بولوني بيلانكور. في عام ٢٠١٩، حصل بامتياز على درجة الماجستير في صناعة الأوبرا والكتابة من مدرسة جيلدهول للموسيقى والدراما ذات الشهرة العالمية بالتعاون مع دار الأوبرا الملكية. يعمل حاليًا أستاذًا للموسيقى و عرقية الموسيقى بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة.

شارك في تأسيس Cairo Impro، وهي سلسلة ارتجال مجانية من ورش العمل والحفلات الموسيقية، والتي تقام في القاهرة منذ نوفمبر ٢٠١٧، وتجمع بعض أفضل المرتجلين في مصر.

بهاء هو ملحن متجذر في الموسيقى العربية، وهو متأثر بقائمة من تقنيات الملحنين الرئيسيين (جيورجي ليجيتي، وإيانيس كسيناكيس، وجون كيج) بالإضافة إلى العديد من التقنيات من الموسيقى الطيفية والطليعية. ومع ذلك فإن جميع المواد في موسيقاه مرتبطة بالموسيقى العربية. يؤلف بهاء ما يسميه "موسيقى حيوية".

Quentin Darricau is a performer, composer and educator working over a large spectrum of musical idioms. Clasically trained, he is specialised in contemporary music and works extensively with live electronics.

After graduating a Masters degree in Pedagogy (classical saxophone), he went to study jazz at HEMU Lausanne (High School of Music) in order to focus on composition and improvisation. On the side, he is self taught in other fields including computer music and classical Arabic music.

Very active in saxophone and improvisation pedagogy, he teaches jazz and saxophone in various french conservatories.

كوينتين داريكوه هو مؤدي وملحن ومعلم يعمل على نطاق واسع من التعابير الموسيقية. تم تدريبه بشكل كلاسيكي، وهو متخصص في الموسيقى المعاصرة ويعمل على نطاق واسع مع الموسيقى الإلكترونية المباشرة.

بعد حصوله على درجة الماجستير في علم أصول التدريس (الساكسفون الكلاسيكي)، ذهب لدراسة موسيقى الجاز في HEMU Lausanne (المدرسة الثانوية للموسيقى) من أجل التركيز على التلحين والارتجال. قام بتعليم نفسه في مجالات أخرى بما في ذلك موسيقة الكمبيوتر والموسيقى العربية الكلاسيكية.

نشط جدا في الساكسفون والارتجال، يقوم بتدريس موسيقى الجاز والساكسفون في العديد من المعاهد الموسيقية الفرنسية.

Two young people come across a child who has been transformed by a spell into piano so they hunt for some magical objects to free him. The objects are sensor devices that can control musical sounds through movement and color.

This project is supported by a production grant from Culture Resource “Mawred Thaqafi”
