30 Days in the Dark: Grading the Finnish adaptation of "Perfect Strangers" 🇫🇮 🤝 🇪🇪
Final grade for the feature film Täydelliset vieraat (Perfect Strangers).
Based on the Guinness World Record-holding Italian script Perfetti Sconosciuti, this story is a masterclass in tension. Our job was to ensure the visual language matched that intensity.
This wasn’t just a file transfer job—it was a massive cross-border collaboration. Over the course of 30 intense days, DP Anssi Leino and I worked side-by-side in our Tallinn suite to sculpt the image, with Director Rike Jokela joining us for the key creative sessions.
We didn't just trust the monitors. We traveled to Helsinki multiple times to test the DCPs in theaters, ensuring the scope image and the deep shadows translated perfectly from the suite to the big screen.
The goal was to honor the practical lighting and build a look that felt intimate yet claustrophobic as the secrets started to spill out.
