I want to send all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for all of your love and support since Denny’s passing in 2023, and for keeping his memory alive.
This time of the year is extremely difficult for me: it was this day (Nov 27) Denny was sent back into ICU because he developed another infection. The following day, he was placed on a ventilator because he started going into respiratory failure—which was a decision he made. As he told the doctors “I’m a fighter. Where there’s life, there’s hope.”
Our final conversation was short because he needed to be placed on the ventilator asap. We held hands, he told me he’s fighting for me and us. I made promises to him regarding his final wishes and plans. We also made it a point to not say goodbye. Instead, we said “see you later,” as we stayed positive that he would be off the ventilator by that weekend. We said our final I love you.
Denny was amazing—very strong and brave, I’m sure for my benefit.
Be thankful for the joys and blessings you have. Don’t take “time” for granted, because things can change so quickly and unexpectedly.
Love to you all❤️
