Wanted Man Arrested for ra.pe of 16-Year-Old on a Train.

Midt- og Vestsjællands Police have arrested a 33-year-old man suspected in the case of ra.pe involving a 16-year-old girl on a regional train between Næstved and Copenhagen. The police announced the arrest in a press release on Wednesday.

Surveillance footage was key in identifying the suspect. Authorities had previously called for witnesses who may have seen the man and the girl on the train on January 7.

According to police, the girl initially tried to escape by running to the restroom, but before she could close the door, the man forced his way in and assaulted her.

The suspect is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

Several motorists are currently trapped in flooding that have accumulated in various parts of Copenhagen. This is reported by Michael Jonsen, the duty officer at the Capital Region’s Emergency Services, to TV 2.

“There are some people stranded on Lyngby Motorway and Lersø Parkallé, from where they cannot proceed,” he says.
