Last week 8 master students from La Cambre Academy in Brussels, were in Struer to investigate the potential of using sound devices to compensate disabilities in everyday life 🔊❤️

With Sound Hub Denmark as a support they were able to talk to sound experts - As an industrial design school, they wanted to get input in the conceptual phase and the design aspect with the knowledge of how to integrate sound features into a product.

Frederick Rickmann, the man behind Steenssen speakers, has a Plan B:
👉To sell some of his stock of speakers at a discounted price during the event: Mød Steenssen hos Sound Hub Denmark

This would – hopefully – generate the cash needed to continue the move to Struer 🤞

Read the 2nd part about STEENSSEN and watch the video where Frederick visits CIM PrintTronic, one of the local craft companies, who will be producing the hardware of the speakers.

Frederick wants to move the production of his STEENSSEN speakers to Struer, but it is dependent on a grant and the collaboration with a local craft company.

"Frederick Rickmann is a man with a plan. He set out on a mission to show the world what Danish design can be, now he wants to give people good sound quality at an affordable price, and he wants to do it all in Struer."

His journey began in Sound Hub Denmark where he also met local companies who is specialized in producing smaller batches and with tradition for doing things the proper way.

👉In upcoming articles we follow Frederick Rickmann and his loudspeaker company STEENSSEN as he gets closer to shipping a finished product ‘Made in Denmark’.

Frederick's philosophy is to avoid making exclusive Danish design that excludes people, for example with at big price tag

Pablo and Philine moved their home and work base to Struer to work on their speakers ’Mapuguaquen’, which in Chilean means ”the sound of the Earth
