joins & on luminous art pop single ‘Don’t Look Back (Eurydice)’

The cult pop singer conjures a spectral drama from the track’s halcyon production, wreathing the warm pads and joyful strings in the cosmic myth of Eurydice and Orpheus.

‘Don’t Look Back (Eurydice)’ will feature on Bager’s collaborative album with singer-songwriter Findlay Brown, set to come out in 2025. Brown’s vocals feature on the track as well, merging with the gauzy threads of Domino’s voice.

The collaboration has its own musical wellspring. Domino’s synth pop of the 80’s is a particularly revered item in the Balearic canon, which Bager – the veteran dj, producer and compiler – has played his part in assembling.

Anna Domino says about the song:

“When I heard the music Kenneth sent me, it suggested the feeling of a really good high.

What the lyrics describe is the seductive dream that a drug can provide - the genuine joy at being in a beautiful place that just happens to be hell. The question becomes - how do you find your way back home from such a nightmare.

So it is a story about Eurydice and her decision to leave the underworld. She speaks to Orpheus of her fascination and fear of the place as she leads him through it.

When I was a child, I saw the movie Black Orpheus and it broke my small heart. The power of that film has never left me.”

Music For Dreams present Carrusel De Sentimientos, the second album by Ibiza-based artist .

A foreword from the artist:

A carousel symbolizes childhood, joy and innocence. It also symbolizes the cyclical nature of life and the inevitable passing of time. In the moment I find myself, these swings of nostalgia for my childhood are to be expected.

Of these nostalgic moments, one of the clearest images is of the annual festivals in my hometown where I spent hours on the merry-go-round that was installed outside the door of my grandparents’ house. The workers at the merry-go-round connected everything to the sockets in my grandparents’ house. In exchange, I could enjoy it without limit.

I loved riding each of its elements (horses, cars, elephants etc.) and in each of them I imagined many stories. These memories have been the inspiration for this second album, with which I reinterpret the different feelings that have awakened in me in the form of music.

From these emotions of longing comes this album with the title Carrusel De Sentimientos.

To capture all this I have counted on a lot of talents without which this album would not have been possible. Some of them were already present in the first album, such as Melón Jiménez, Santino Surfers, Tupac Peralta, Olio, The Swan And The Lake… and new collaborations such as Romana Alarcón, Marta Chandra, Akinsola, Andrea Kamenar, Cecilia Abularach and Russ Farelo.

(NL) has teamed up with Belgium’s to re-work tracks from their last Album ‘Atlantis Atlantis’. This is by no means your standard ‘remix’ album!

Pete has sonically re-furbished the tracks getting the band to do new instrumental layers and vocal dubs to enrich his versions to recreate a totally new take on the songs. With Pete leading the way in his production style, showcasing another side to his skills than his traditional disco edits which we know & love. The Album flows through different electronic frequencies taking the listener on an unparalleled journey into another dimension.

Pete says “Back in 2021 I was asked to remix a track for Rheinzand (Strange World). I couldn’t imagine that we would have had a whole remix album that would eventually be released on vinyl. This journey was a new, overwhelming, frightening but beautiful experience for me. I had never done something like this. I didn’t have the experience and knowledge at that time. I only had one night a week of studio time and 10 months of time. And here we are, I can certainly say – anything is possible”.
