Next week CREATE Festival in Svendborg celebrates animation through a series of activities such as films, workshops, VR experiences, and talks. The festival offers an ambitious program for both children and adults, focusing on comics, animation, and games. Its main goal is to create spaces for creativity and immersion, where participants can become co-creators.
📅 Dates: The CREATE Festival takes place from January 27 to February 2, 2025.
🎟️💰Festival wristbands: Access to film screenings and events costs 85 DKK for adults, 65 DKK for youths (7-17 years), and 5 DKK for children (0-6 years). This gives free access to the entire festival program, but booking seats is recommended.
🎬🍿Film screenings: Daily screenings of carefully selected animated films, including the Danish premiere of The Glassworker, Pakistan's first hand-drawn animated film, as well as award-winning films like FLOW by Gints Zilbalodis and the new Peasants by director Hugh Welchman.
✨🎥Animated Short Films: For the first time, a program of animated short films will be presented, including the premiere of 2nd Day & the End of the World by Sara Koppel
🎨👩🎨👨🎨Workshops: Tor Fruergaard offers workshops for the whole family to learn how to make fun stop-motion films. Additionally, sessions like Kroptid use animation to create presence and calm.
🖼️🗣️Exhibitions and Talks: Participate in exciting talks and explore exhibitions with artists from both Denmark and abroad in Svendborg.
🗺️🚶♂️Locations: The festival takes place at Svendborg Library and nine other locations around the city, all within easy walking distance.
