Another year has (almost) come to an end! And we are now entering the fourth year of Pink Cotton Candy releasing Danish experimental / alternative underground music. Two debut releases this year and music ranging from post-hardcore, folk, post-punk, post-rock, electroacoustic free improvisation, ambient... What might the next year bring...? Endless gratitude for your support❤️

And thank you to all the artists who released wide-ranging, urgent, ecletic and inspiring music with us over the past year: Taxidermy DK, Quiet Sonia, H o m e s i c k n e s s, Ignacio Córdoba and Agata Ciurkot, and Chopper. Special thanks also to Jeppe Davidsen for the collaboration on his debut solo album under his own name, "Vaere."

And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who collaborates with us - from record stores to music media, to bookers and venues. It means everything to a small independent label like us, really.👏

Today, November 29th, Jeppe Davidsen - drummer in First Flush - self-releases his incredibly catchy, uplifting, and dreamy debut album under his own name, 'Være' ('Vaere' in English)! We’re really proud to have been part of promoting this album🔥❤️

Do something good for your mood in this cold season by listening to these soaring, sensitive, and noisy pop songs: https://jeppedavidsen.bandcamp.com/album/v-re

"Vaere" explores a bedroom/lo-fi shoegaze and dream pop sound, drawing inspiration from 90’s alternative indie rock, hypnagogic pop, cloud rap/emo rap, and vaporwave. With shimmering, crystalline dream pop guitars, heavy drum machine sounds, melodic chorus-laden basslines, and airy, sparkling acoustic guitars, 'Vaere' promises something hopeful, euphoric and comforting in contrast to the current troubling state of the world.

Congrats!!👏

This Friday, November 29th, we’re releasing the second single+video, 'Pseudobulbar Affect', from Ignacio Córdoba and Agata Ciurkot’s upcoming album, 'Ephemeral, Basal' (January 17th 2025). A really beautiful ambient piece of modern classical/jazz/live-electronics you shouldn't miss (think Alva Noto / Ryuichi Sakamoto, for instance).

Presave the single: https://orcd.co/pseudobulbaraffect

And a bit about the track: In “Pseudobulbar Affect,” Ciurkot’s gentle, slow piano phrasing is met by Córdoba’s intermittent electronics and a cavernous, marching kick drum. Together, they float in a sea of sizzling electronic whispers, unexpectedly comforting glitches, and echoes that resonate deeper with each repetition.

Thanks for your support - and as always, please consider supporting the artist and label by buying the track on Bandcamp.🤍

We're supporting our friend Jeppe Davidsen from First Flush in self-releasing his debut album under his own name, 'Være' ('Vaere' in English), which is set for release on November 29, 2024. We're also announcing the second single from the release, 'April', which will be out this Friday. 👏

‘April’ is made for walking in the spring sun, blending elements of shoegaze, dance pop, hypnagogic pop, and emo rap. An upbeat, ecstatic, noisy pop song about hope, anticipation, and the wonder of meeting up with a friend or a loved one.❤️

Today we release H o m e s i c k n e s s' second single 'Asunder' from their upcoming album, 'Anamnesis' (March 21, 2025).👏

Here's a link to listen: https://orcd.co/asunder

'Asunder' is a quietly poignant, emotionally haunting and contemplative chamber-folk piece. The song was born in the dawn of May 20, 2023, as the artist reflects on the profound impact of two defining relations - both of whom chose to pass into infinity. The struggle to cope with loss, the burdens of inheritance and inner turmoil is palpable, with the artist revealing, “sometimes the pain I hold in my heart feels as if it is too much to carry.”

Thanks to Undertoner for the music video premiere🖤

This Friday, October 18, 2024, we're releasing the first single+video, 'Luminiferous Aether,' by Ignacio Córdoba and Agata Ciurkot from their upcoming album, 'Ephemeral, Basal,' which will be released on January 17, 2025.

This improvisation-based composition - blending jazz, ambient, modern classical and electronic music - is a romantic ballad that intertwines processed piano with repurposed industrial oscillators. Flares, echoes, sound waves, blinding lights, harmonies, reflections, and distortions weave in and out of darkness, culminating in a climactic coda of nearly doom-like piano chords and resonant 808 kicks.

We are truly proud to present “Roses by the Creek,” the debut single from Homesickness’ upcoming second album, “Anamnesis” (March 21, 2025). ❤️

Please consider supporting the artist by buying the track on Bandcamp (today it's Bandcamp Friday so we have a 25% discount with the code "bandcampfridayoct4"): https://homesickness1.bandcamp.com/track/roses-by-the-creek

A lush, warm, and free-flowing piece of jazz-inspired chamber-folk, “Roses by the Creek” is described by composer, painter, and lyricist Malthe Junge as “an auto-prophetic letter” about “trusting the passing.” With its gorgeous, rich instrumentation (including Rhodes, flute, Patrick Rathbun on violin and the backing vocals of Sophia Luna Portra), elaborate arrangements, and a rustic, serene ambiance, “Roses by the Creek” almost therapeutically conveys a sense of tranquility, natural beauty, and simplicity.

We’ve got some more joyful news for the fall release schedule: On October 4th, 2024, we’re releasing "Roses by the Creek," the first single from H o m e s i c k n e s s' upcoming album, "Anamnesis".

Here's a link to presave: https://orcd.co/rosesbythecreek

A lush, warm, and free-flowing piece of jazz-inspired chamber-folk - perhaps reminiscent of a blend of the late '60s/early '70s Laurel Canyon folk rock scene (Crosby, Mitchell), British folk rock (Pentangle, Nick Drake), and the spacious, improvised quality of Talk Talk’s “Laughing Stock” - “Roses by the Creek” is described by composer, painter, and lyricist Malthe Junge as “an auto-prophetic letter” about “trusting the passing.”

We're truly excited to announce that we've signed a new artist to the PCC roster, the duo Córdoba/Ciurkot.❤️

Ignacio Cordoba, an improviser and composer from Madrid based in Copenhagen, and Agata Ciurkot, a Polish pianist, improviser and composer residing in Berlin, first met in the fall of 2017 at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Both navigating across jazz, free-improv, and contemporary composition, Agata was drawn to Ignacio's mastery of the sound produced by his machines and effects. Instead of aiming to dismantle everything and shatter all norms, Cordoba seemed to delicately forge new rules in a fresh musical game.

Inspired by this approach, Agata wanted to transport the piano into that same space. She invited Ignacio to join her, accompanying her on a journey to process the grand piano through effects that would render it unrecognisable. As they played together, they sensed a profound connection: one space, two minds, and two hearts slowing down their beats to resonate together.
