💣 Truth Bomb: Taking a year or more to write a book isn't about the writing; it's often the lack of a clear concept or a message to share in the book.

Or it could be because the author had to:

🤓 learn about the subject themselves
🔑 develop key concepts
🙈 got distracted
😬 deal with a publisher that asked for rewrites repeatedly without properly guiding the process.

=>> Or they used highly unproductive writing strategies that were better fit for fiction or writing as a hobby. 🤦♀️

How do you write a book if you do not feel like a writer? 🤔

82% of Americans (NYT Research) feel they have a book inside them - but less than 1% ever write it. 😲

Writing a book can seem overwhelming. It is common to imagine it will take years or at least many months.

If you know me, you also know that is not true. 🙌

But the feeling is real.

Most people won’t ever get it done.

Luckily, there are techniques to help you master writing like a pro and to express yourself in your natural voice. 🙏

1️⃣ Make ALL decisions before you write a single word (let me know if you want the framework for that)

2️⃣ Don’t let the content you already have randomly define your book content - be strategic about the purpose of the book, for the reader and for you

3️⃣ Use your voice. Literally. Speak your first full draft after significant preparation so you don’t end up editing a crazy amount of text instead and don’t save any time (yep, I have a process to make that work)

4️⃣ Apply the Pareto principle: Spend only 20% of your writing time on the first full draft and accept it’s only going to be 80% of the quality you are looking to achieve (you guessed it - I have a process for that ;)

I’ll be there setting up next week ready for the opening on Friday 3 Nov! Alongside 7 of my authors Merete Bergman Smit, Susanne Skov Diemer, Ole Jepsen, Jenni Jepsen, Lise Grastrup and Mette Reebirk Gitte Madelaire 📚

We’ll be running a number of events at the Book Fair and also a competition with some amazing prizes.

The main prize is a place on my Book Writing Retreat in Spain next year! 🇪🇸
