10 år- 10 years- Thanks to you Doc Lounge Aarhus celebrates its 10 year anniversary and we want to invite you amazing Doc Loungers to the first events to celebrate the anniversary on May 21st!
The film is about the icelandic pro-Palestinian art ensemble Hatari won the Icelandic Melodi Grand Prix and thus have to perform at the international Eurovision - in Tel Aviv. What to do- how to protest, what can one band do in a huge Eurovison machine and a state that has been classified as "apartheid".. Unfortunately the film is now more current then ever.. and shows that even after 10 years it is so important to show and talk about documentary films!
Before the film, Rabih Azad-Ahmad, Councilor for the Magistrates Department for Culture, speaks . Rabih Azad-Ahmad has a Palestinian-Danish background, as he was born in the refugee camp El-Buss in southern Lebanon in a sibling group of a total of seven, whose parents were displaced Palestinian refugees.
In addition, you can meet Iceland's Ambassador, Helga Hauksdóttir as well as Karen Nordentoft, -former festival director at Aarhus Film Festival, who will reveal how she 10 years ago was part of starting Doc Lounge in Aarhus.
After the film, there are answers and questions with the film's director, Anna Hildur, and the Icelandic Embassy has a surprise or two!

The obsession with wealth doesn't just affect men, and "Generation Wealth" explores the female perspective, through the stories of a female workaholic, a Midwest girl who travelled to Hollywood to become a porn star, a bus driver who went to Brazil for radical plastic surgery she hoped would fix both herself and her relationship with her daughter, and a young girl who learns that she can make up for her lack of money with her body and physical attractiveness. These women cope with the expectations of society in their own ways and reflect on what really makes life worth living. "Generation wealth" also tells Greenfields personal story, and explores her complicated relationship with her mother, and her son, wondering how her own workaholic tendencies in the pursuit of “more”, have damaged her family life. Generation Wealth is the latest documentary by celebrated photographer and female director Lauren Greenfield, who made the award-winning The Queen of Versailles in 2012. The film is a chocking and unique portrait, that makes you question everything you think you know about the American dream. For more than 25 years, Greenfield has documented the lifestyles of some of the richest people in America, and how their influence has shaped our culture and ideals worldwide. The film is a fascinating study of surface worship and social psychology, where emptiness is lurking behind the sparkling and glamourous façade. At an age when inequality is at historic highs and where the president of the united states is the epitome of vanity and new money, Greenfield's work is more relevant than ever. Generation Wealth is an aesthetically accomplished journey deep inside an otherwise closed world, where money is everything. Filmmaker Laura Greenfield..." has been particularly fascinated with how women often end up paying the steepest price, becoming commodities themselves, forced to take shortcuts to extended youth and beauty because of expectations that rarely extend to men."
