Happiness is The Star, The Moon, The World. Happiness is shincha, the first and finest spring green tea from Japan, after a few hours of nakedness in the cold North Sea of the Atlantic Ocean, and playing hide and seek with the wind in camouflage among the stones of a favorite spot. Happiness is among the rocks of the Moon, under the bright skin of the Star, in a World of fine books and the ancient wisdom of the rose.

Calum Hazell’s book is now out from EyeCorner Press, and available from all online stores. If you have a penchant for anthropology, math, and art, you may find, ‘Formal Shamanic Conduct’ a fascinating read. Enjoy!
Andromalius, Take Two: Goetic Stories is now out in the paperback and ebook editions. Available from all online stores. The stock on the silk hardback edition from EyeCorner Press directly, the edition that also comes with the talismanic map for finding treasures is now low, with only 9 copies available. But as December is here, it’s best to have several options. Enjoy this magic book.
JJ Haladyn’s new book is a feast for the art historian. Enjoy! Link in bio.
Rhymes. Because silk reflects the light, the ink next to its margins does the same.
Two that look good together. Andromalius and Tarot for Romeo and Juliet. As usual, Camelia Elias fences with words and images. Executed with love and precision.
More Goetic magic? Here's a cool encounter. Magic works with the spontaneity of chance encounters, such as the ones between word and number, or word and image. As I was signing Andromalius, when I got to copy 133, just before I closed the book it opened to page 66. I looked at the last line on that page. It consists of one word only: kinship. I’ll be damned, I thought to myself. There IS kinship, I said to myself and it comes as a bond. ‘I might be thinking of Lucifer,’ I also wrote on that page, right below the word Andromalius, which made me think of the entanglement between these two stars. I nodded, for this innocent bibliomancy here felt like a strengthening of my argument in the book. Great bonds all of them, including the kinship between the numbers 66 to 133. 133 is 66+66+1. There’s nothing like cool arithmetic associations. As everything is an abstract in performance, we go with this magic. I had to make a film for it, because why not? Especially since my head was well fumigated and irrigated: Dragon blood and wormwood. The evening dew in a fine crystal glass shimmered in the full moon’s silver light. Magic is magic… Andromalius launches on Tuesday at 6PM CPH. https://www.eyecorner.press/special-editions/p/andromalius

Some thoughts on the power of the books that make a direct transmission or how to craft a convincing talisman. What are the conditions for such magic, and why are some of these conditions counter-intuitive? This in an important discussion for all interested in what to make of magic beyond belief. Enjoy!

Hanging out with the Oxford Dons at Roskilde University.
A moment of visual poetry: 2013/2020.
In a moment of vigilance and grace.
‘Are you a demonologist?’ some people ask me, and I always say, ‘absolutely.’ I mean it too. I’m very much invested in distinguishing between the whispers from demons, for instance. I like to know when the lesser imps talk, and when a devil of caliber intervenes. As a general rule, I instantly dismiss the incompetent demons whose seductions often consist of merely flattering my ego through an attempt to validate my genius. No thanks. Others, more sophisticated demons are more worthy of attention. New essay on EyeCorner Press about this. Enjoy!
The Devil's Whisper or what Andromalius, Paco de Lucia, Bach, and Yehudi Menuhin have in common by Camelia Elias
I donned a sober dress and went out. EyeCorner Press business. My next book in line is my 31st overall, the 16th in the divination and demonology category, and the 2nd in the silk series. Indeed, serious business. When I look at EyeCorner Press that I started with 5 universities 16 years ago, I still like what I see. Every year I have good cause to celebrate. This year was the 1 year birthday of the Read like the Devil trilogy of books, marking a decade of sustained thinking about the philosophy and practice of reading cards. I made my mark through contributing to the field by stressing the importance of the question and the function a visual text performs. Before I entered this particular scene, no one talked about functions in relation to deconstructing the language of the symbolism of the cards. Some deemed my work as ‘too academic.’ Others embraced it as ‘a work of a genius.’ I myself don’t have any opinions about what I’ve been doing, other than pointing to what I find interesting that hasn’t been done before. But today it’s up to the strong printers I’ve elected to go with for the production of ‘Andromalius: Goetic Stories’ to make it even more interesting aesthetically speaking. If you liked the Oracle Travels Light, you will like this one even more. As with all my books, I don’t waste my time, and I imagine that I don’t waste the readers’ time either, unless these readers have agendas of their own. Either way, some things are flashing. Stay tuned, and thank you to the thousands who have been buying and reading my books over the years. This is the most serious business of all, to have captured the readers’ attention for reasons other than transacting with clichés.

Non Buddhist Mysticism by Glenn Wallis is now available from EyeCorner Press. It appeals to the inner heretic in the contemplative ‘non-philosopher’ as it addresses the relationship between Buddhism and mysticism. Amazon and other online stores are ready to ship this book to the readers. citeseminars
The Spanish translation of ‘Marseille Tarot: Towards the Art of Reading,’ is now out. Available from all online stores at the publisher's list price to match the English edition, $22 (not some other inflated price that third party vendors on Amazon insist on). We hope that this volume will bring much joy in the Spanish speaking cartomancy community. Enjoy!

EYECORNER PRESS is an independent publishing house started in 2007 as a collaboration between the universities of Roskilde and Aalborg in Denmark, Oulu in Finland, and Gainesville, Georgia, USA. We publish divination books, critical theory, drama and poetry, and bi-lingual translations.
EYECORNER PRESS initially focussed on promoting academic writing with an edge, highlighting the individual voice that brings integrity to intellectual rigor in an uncommon way. For this effort EyeCorner Press has been indexed in 2014 onto the Danish Bibliometrical Research Indicator Authority list.
EYECORNER PRESS also has two separate imprints, in addition to publishing books in the Criticism category:
EYECORNER PRESS gives priority overall to works that engage with a creative style and irreverent approaches to literature, culture, philosophy, religion, and visual art.
THE GENRES represented are the following:
OUR PHILOSOPHY: CREATIVITY IS CLARITY
All manuscripts honor Raymond Federman’s precepts for the writing of critifiction, the conflation of criticism with fiction.
“The term critifiction is used because the discourse that follows is critical as well as fictitious; imagination is used in the sense that it is essential in the formulation of a discourse; plagiarism [read play-giarism] because the writing of a discourse always implies bringing together pieces of other discourses; an unfinished endless discourse because what is presented here is open at both ends, and as such more could be added endlessly.” – RAYMOND FEDERMAN, Critifiction, 1993: 49
ALL MANUSCRIPTS undergo peer review. Written peer-reviews/reports are carried out by external members of our editorial panel prior to publication. Readers include academics from both sides of the Atlantic.
THE PRESS publishes works in English, Danish, French, Romanian, and bilingual editions.
