Happy and sad at the same time today.
Happy and super grateful because I got to mix and master these final songs.
Sad because they are their final songs.
Anyway, these songs rip. I just love the melodies, harmonies and overall vibe. Didn’t expect anything less from you guys and I’m stoked to be a part of it again!
Thanks for everything you’ve created and done over the years. I’ve always loved working with you, sharing the stage with you, going to with you, and just hanging out at shows talking about our personal lives or Taylor Swift.

All we care about is creating impactful and exciting mixes for authentic rock, punk and heavy bands.
WHO AND WHAT?
Outback Recordings is a studio specializing in rock, punk and heavy music like hardcore or metal. It’s located in the beautiful Bavarian Forest, right next to the Bavarian Forest National Park. My name is Benedikt Hain and my team and I run this thing. We love working with bands to turn their songs into exciting and impactful records. Besides mixing for established bands and labels, I’m constantly helping up-and-coming bands reach a bigger audience or get signed to record labels and booking agencies through my work.
When I say “my team”, I mean my amazing assistants and partners who help me prepare my mixing sessions, do the editing work and help with the administrative stuff. They speed up my workflow tremendously and enable me to focus on what I’m best at - Mixing.
I also mean the brilliant, world class mastering engineers that I work with. Those people are geniuses and they give my mixes the final touch. I believe in building a team of dedicated specialists to create the most exciting art.
We also have a small live room here at the studio and a decent collection of high-end mics, preamps, instruments and amps to be able to do reamping or overdubs.
WHY?
Most people struggle to get this kind of music to sound punchy and modern, while keeping the feel, raw energy and emotional impact of the performance. It often sounds weak and amateur, or totally fake and artificial. I have dedicated my whole career to making organic recordings and mixes that deliver all the energy and emotion of your songs to the listener. I want you to stand out and succeed. Whatever that means for you, I’m on your team. Because your success is my success and because there’s nothing more exciting to me than watching a band I’ve worked with reach their goals. Putting out mixes that people care about and helping bands navigate the independent music industry jungle is what drives me.

Being a touring musician in signed bands myself for more than a decade now enables me to me understand you and your struggles 100%.
