Grief offers an intimate exploration of the emotions surrounding loss. As an audience, we follow with curiosity and fascination as Bea and Angelique are pulled apart and brought together, navigating through states of loneliness, sadness, anger and peace.
Grief is part of Bea Box's latest album Lotus, which navigates around the different emotions that are connected to her life as an immigrant in Germany such as loneliness, loss, but also gratitude, joy and amazement. Heavily influenced by Bea's background as a percussionist, the album's electronic beats are rooted in her beloved Afro-Cuban music repertoire.
This song and video were created as Bea sought to express her own grief and help herself and others going through difficult emotions.
Bea Box is a singer, songwriter, percussionist and music producer. Bea Box's journey has taken her across the globe, learning the rhythms of the world from masters such as Paul Picard and Harouna Dembélé. Her vocal talents have been enhanced by Catherine Bastarache and Shara Nova, while her travels to places like Cuba, India and Spain have enriched her with diverse musical influences.
Bea's music is a mesmerizing blend of her unique voice, virtuoso percussion skills, and sensitive production. Her latest album, Lotus, fuses traditional percussive grooves with electronic beats and is inspired by her life in Germany. Co-produced with Nicolas Börger, known for his work with Kontra K, "Lotus" cements Bea Box's status as a singer, songwriter and music producer of singular vision.
