Is Obsession the Key to Success in Business? 🤔
I recently attended the , the biggest event in Valencia, Spain for startups and entrepreneurs in the tech field. Among the presentations on the latest AI trends and startups, two stood out to me, focusing on the less glamorous side of entrepreneurship:
🛥️ One speaker, , advocated for the "burn the boats" mentality, a trait often seen in highly successful entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos. It's about total commitment to your goals with no fallback, the so-called "win or die" mentality.
💡 The other, , emphasized the need to incorporate self-care into the entrepreneurial journey to avoid the high rates of mental and physical problems entrepreneurs have, especially the risk of 'startup attachment,' where their business overshadows everything else in life such as health, relationships, and more.
Both perspectives resonated with me. My takeaway?
🌱 My obsession is my well-being. For me, success isn't about relentless hustle but about striving for self-fulfillment while staying true to myself.
💪 This is how I see the entrepreneurial mindset: taking ownership of your life by accepting responsibility for both failures and successes. This ownership prevents me from wasting time and energy on blame or entitlement when setbacks arise, and it empowers me to stand up and keep pursuing my goal.
What about you, do you 'burn the boats' for your business success, or do you strive for success while ensuring your well-being along the way? 🌟👇
