Those who have ever recorded at the Hans Rosbaud Studio in Baden-Baden (Germany) say it is a true gem. It used to belong to the public broadcaster SWR and was used for jazz, entertainment, contemporary, and classical music recordings between 1955 and 2024. Even Deep Purple once rehearsed there. And Karlheinz Stockhausen was a regular. Unfortunately, the land on which it still stands was sold, and unless a last-minute miracle happens, the studio will be wrecked any day now. This video celebrates the glory of a very special place in the German production landscape. Its perfectly balanced sound has been captured with Lawo consoles for longer than anyone cares to remember. Luckily, the SWR sound engineers decided to take impulse responses in a variety formats of this very special space. Christian Struck, Lawo’s Senior Product Manager, Audio Infrastructure, introduces the new audio highlights on display IBC tradeshow that closed its doors less than two days ago. The HOME mc² DSP app with flexible, CPU-based audio processing, which has already proven its mettle at this year’s top-tier global events, is ready to rock the HOME Apps platform. Users can either purchase a perpetual license for HOME mc² DSP, or leverage its audio wizardry via Lawo Flex Subscriptions. The latter allows them to combine it with the other eight (for now) HOME Apps, at a fixed budget. A new system release for Lawo’s audio platform of DSP processors (A__UHD Core, HOME mc² DSP) and mc² consoles now provides highly intuitive channel strip assignments with drag-and-drop-style surface allocation via a new graphical user interface that provides an overview across all Banks and Layers. And personal monitoring in a live setting is now also supported.
