The metamorphosis of Sentenced in their first decade of existence in retrospect was quite impressive, more so since they managed to keep a strong and even growing following. Having been to many of their shows between "North from here" and "Amok", "Down" was a follow-up album that was even harder to swallow for an old school death metal audience. But surely they didn´t care and instead went out on tour with The Gathering to support the album. Here we have a chat Friso had with Sami & Ville on the tour bus during their stop on our home turf Osnabrück.

In the early 2000s, we received an envelope plastered with stamps all the way from Brazil to find inside a promo CD for a band called Tuatha de Danann, oddly playing heavily Irish influenced heavy metal. A big deal in their home country, a couple of years later these guys were over in Germany to play the Wacken Open Air. We ran into Rodrigo and their manager, so that we took the chance to do a short interview for the show (note the manager translated the answers from Portuguese). And right after the festival, we met up with singer Bruno on his first trip to Ireland (but that is a different story). The band are still going, so check them out!

Wo ist Walter, äh Wolfgang? Zuerst bei uns im Gespräch im Rahmen des dritten F*ck the Commerce Open Airs (F**k-The-Commerce), zuletzt gesichtet 2004 als Tourmanager auf der Rebirth of Dissection Tour. Vielleicht weiß es jemand? Akut wichtiger ist vielleicht dieser Plausch aus dem Jahre 2000, als wir das erste Mal das FTC besuchten, welches für eine ganze Reihe bahnbrechender Open Airs der härteren Sorte in BRD verantwortlich wahr. Unzählige Geschichten ranken sich um die Erlebnisse, die man dort hatte, über die wir hier aber schweigen wollen. Nicht zu vergessen sei, dass unter dem Banner des FTC in der Zwischenzeit auch einige Wiederbelebungsversuche gestartet wurden. Wir achten mal genauer drauf, auch wenn die letzte Runde beerdigt werden musste!

Da freut er sich wie Bolle, der Friso, wenn er seine Lieblinge von DISILLUSION vors Mikro bekommt. Beim Auftritt in Hamburg hat es leider nicht direkt geklappt, so dass in diesem Fall ein Online Gespräch herhalten musste. Viel gab es zu besprechen, mit Rückblicken in frühe Tage der Bandgeschichte und einem Ausblick auf die Dinge, die da kommen werden.

No way we were going to miss ABIGAIL/BARBATOS playing the infamous Zille (thanks to Vollgas Unterhaltung). Sure enough, the gig was sold out in no time and the place was buzzing with excited punters downing beers and ready to freak out.
