L**hfall near Füssen ❤️🇩🇪❄️

Füssen is a town in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Ostallgäu. It is located in the southwest of Bavaria on the Romantic Road.

Füssen is only 2 hours away from Munich and frequent train connections allow tourists to explore this wanderlust.

Füssen’s roots go back to Roman times. The town developed on the Roman road Via Claudia Augusta around 50 AD.

Hohes Schloss lies on a hill above the old town of Füssen. The large Gothic castle is considered one of the best-preserved medieval castle complexes in Bavaria.

The worlds most famous Castle of Bavarian King Ludwig, Schloss Neuschwanstein,is situated at the edge of the alps next to the town of Füssen.

At the L**hfall, the L**h flows over a barrage built in the 18th century into a narrow gorge before flowing below the narrow point in a wide bed past Füssen.

The High Castle is located in the center of the old town of Füssen. At the end of the 13th century, Duke Lois II of Bavaria ordered its construction.

Around 1500, Bishop Frederich II von Zollern fundamentally re-designed it. It’s one of the most important late-Gothic castles in Germany.

The Baumgarten is located on a hill southwest of Füssen’s old town. It borders on the L**h in the south, the Hohe Schloss in the east and the Kobel in the west.

The old town of Füssen is a real gem at night and is highly recommended for a late-night walk. The shops usually close around 6:00 PM so if you want to do some shopping – don’t be late.

I will recommend spending at least 3 days in Füssen to enjoy the beauty of this alluring area.
