Menal Batti, known as Ehrenschwesta, invites us to explore her energetic yet atmospheric sound of her roots and experiences. As a Swedish techno DJ based in Vienna, a member of Wiener Gerüstbau collective and a co-founder of SAMAYA, she strives for musical expression beyond entertainment. Embracing her Kurdish heritage, she amplifies her rhythmic narrative with an inspiration that she drew from her father’s instrument, the saz.

Ehrenschwesta’s journey into the scene was sparked by her enthusiasm for the 90’s techno music; yet, while assembling her unalike inspiration and passion into a coherent whole, she developed her own style, in which she blends different manifestations of the genre. In addition to her regular performances at local clubs such as Grelle Forelle, PRST and Das Werk, Ehreschwesta’s rapid professional growth was celebrated in Germany, Spain, Croatia, Georgia as well as Sweden. Following her breakthrough success at gigs where she played for Herrensauna, Marcel Dettman’s Bad Manners showcase and Unchained Blitz, Ehrenschwesta will deliver her powerful and rhythmic message in a fast and atmospheric manner to unlock SAMAYA floor.

Drawing inspiration from the vast and barren places, SAND has honed a
unique aesthetic that incorporates modularity, granularity, and organic
textures. His music is characterized by deep, textured vibrations and
hypnotic rhythms that combine to form an intricate soundscape that is
both captivating and otherworldly.

SAND began his musical journey as a Drummer, but it wasn't long before
he's began exploring the world of production. With a love for modular
synthesis and granular techniques, he quickly gained a reputation for
his innovative approach to sound design.

Yeah, you heard right. We’re calling for a DJ. But not any one. We need V:SONNTAG! A young musician hailing straight from Leipzig, one of Germany’s unofficial capitols of electronic dance music. Her selection is exquisite, her hand is steady, and she’s ready to bring it all, and to bring it loudly. V:SONNTAG’s taste in music represents a true variety, and it came a long way before entering the realm of electronic underground.

Her first true musical love didn’t lie within the sonic walls of puristic 4-to-the-floor beats, but rather with the likes of Miss Misdemeanor and the then-and-now well-renowned Mrs. Knowles-Carter. And hey, let’s be honest – an 808’s an 808, right? Sonntag’s sense of music has always been tied to its physical potential. To put it simple – it’s good when you can dance to it. An attitude she never wavered from throughout her artistic journey as she sees it as one of her missions to make her crowds not only listen but truly move to her sounds. Her take on music is as powerful as they are empowering. Montero’s story begins in a small town in the torrid vastness of southern Spain. There, in the scorching heat of the Spanish sun, he first found his love to electronic music which he’s been nurturing and honing since then to this very day.

Though his road has taken the Berliner-by-choice quite a few miles since his first walking attempts at the art of electronic music, a few things stayed the same along the way: His unwavering dedication to our underground electronic culture, his remarkable sleuth for the right groove at the right time, and his infallible intuition for a crowd.

Talents, he does not only put to use as a musician, but also as one of the masterminds behind Basilar, the intimate insider’s tip of a Techno festival amidst the deep north of Portugal. The portfolio Montero brings to the dancefloor varies from deep, organic Dub grooves and minimalistic Detroit sounds to lethal, high tempo Techno killers, and virtually everything in between.

He can turn the crowd’s mood from leisured, contemplative 4-to-the-floor sidesteps to an outright sonic frenzy and back in no time. And often he does.
And as much as his DJ skills are a true gem, we’d like to rave about all day long, we’d be fools not to mention the other set of skills he brings to the tables, which he intends to serve to a grander audience soon – his works in the sound studio. Rest assured, 2023 will be a good year for Montero, and for you.

Fast. Impulsive. Techno. Three words to establish and define what the artist known as Egotot is all about. The young musician, hailing from the deep south of Germany, sets quite the pace when it comes to his vision of electronic music, regarding both tempo as well as quality. His beats, be in the studio or in the DJ booth, appear to come and arrange themselves seemingly with no effort. A Rave-infected sonic testing ground without ever feeling like a simple Rave pastiche.

A vision of Techno that is obviously inspired by its sound of the 90s, but neither exceedingly aggressive, nor excessively happy. Egotot has a special taste for rugged, up-tempo grooves which demand their own time to breathe and reveal their power. A sonic all-purpose weapon to be used on, for, and by the dance floor.

However, his sense for music doesn’t stop at the edge of dancefloor-oriented Rave. It goes far beyond, right to and through the sometimes more and sometimes less subtle tides of electronic music. This exemplarily reflects in his very own imprint, Schimmer Records, which he founded in 2019.

The label has, in a rather short period of time, already evolved to a sonic reservoir of all different shades, all of which share a commonality – quality in production, love to detail, and an undeniable appeal to avid devotees of electronic music of all kinds. There is nothing confusing about Egotot’s take on music. It is clean-cut, it is straightforward, it is always effective. The Industrial clout, the fast groove, the merciless rigor – this is how Techno should sound in the 21st century, and Egotot is its perfect avatar.

In a musical world heavily focused on the straight lines, drumming its beats stringently four on the floor, artists who break out of the classical rhythm always tend to catch one’s ears and eyes. John Wallis is one of those. Constructing complex sonic cathedrals from a mind- and toolset born of both the UK as the EU, the artist going by the name of Decka, presents quite a unique panoply of sounds to his willing listeners. His music reflects a fascinating blend of bone-stripping Techno and blissfully blinding Bass, forging a musical mélange looking both to the big room Industrial sound of the German capital, where he nowadays resides as well as the sub-low pressure rooted in his hometown of Bristol.

His intriguing take on modern electronic music is not only seen and heard in his own productions and club performances, but also on his very own label Unterwegs, which he founded with his partner in crime, The Lady Machine, to provide a base for likeminded souls, sharing their musical vision.

Decka represents a very distinct kind of musician. The kind that doesn’t dwell too much in the realms of theory and planned perfection. His approach to electronic music is born out and based in the very present. That exact moment when it’s just him, his machines, and the never-ending beat. As it should be.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, they say. Why do we need beauty at all, say we? When there are so many things so much more worth exploring?

We know what we are talking about, and so does Messiahwaits. Though the Korean-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer isn’t too much of a talker. And he doesn’t need to be. He prefers letting his records speaking for him, letting their beautifully crafted voices, made of snares, high-hats, and bass drums tell his stories. Stories to be heard at night in the dense dark of the dancefloor, soaked in sweat, covered in haze.

Messiahwaits is a musical artist through and through. And when we say music, we mean music, real music. The one that touches you not by its cheesy harmonics or its predictable lyrics, but by its purity of form and essence. Music, so vibrant it sends shivers through your bones, so tense you can’t help but moving your body, so clear it helps you shut off the world for a hot minute.

Messiahwaits’s music moves forward, it’s layers of sounds, moods, and movement, it builds up to a unique sonic experience everytime he faces the public, be it in his studio or in the DJ booth. He creates droning atmospheres, fused with repetitive, jacking rhythms and filled with a dark and unsettling aura.

He plays with expectations and breaks tonal conventions in his very own way. And it works. And you are going to want more – we promise.

Nastia Reigel started organising illegal parties in Siberia at only 18 having very little resources at hand, but instead a healthy dose of curiosity. The location which was used as a cinema by day turned at night into what was going to be the foundation of the first proper raves in this part of Siberia. It is where Nastia’s artistic journey to the different dance floors of the world began.

Curating spaces, creating atmospheres, building communities - this is a theme that pervades Reigel’s whole career. With her perseverance and dedication she went on to organise the first-ever q***r parties in St. Petersburg and later Moscow which have been covered several times by Dazed Magazine.

She spent years acquiring different mixing techniques and selection skills that shaped her unique voice as a musician and DJ as well as a busy touring schedule in Europe, Australia as well as North and South America.

Nastia's obsession with achieving a deeper understanding of electronic music and developing techno sound is a gift she doesn’t only present to us on the dance floor, but also in her studio work. Releases on household name labels like Non Series, Token, or Enemy Records stand pounding proof for that.

Nastia has broadened her scope as a musician well beyond techno. Her post-punk alias Rosa Damask first appeared in Vatican Shadow’s Berghain Mix 09; soon after, she released an album on his widely revered label Hospital Productions and her second album on Atlanta’s DKA label.

She delivers a unique artistic perspective, refreshing musical vigour, and an indisputable technical mastery. What can we say – she’s the complete package.
