ONE WAY DOWN - I'm Leaving Here (2005)
One Way Down is a post-hardcore rock band that formed in late 1996 under the name decepticans. Chris Ekstedt started the band to have a resource to let out some nervous energy. The name "decepticans" was taken from a French slang for liars. "We changed the name because so many people wanted to not spell it correctly and I was tired of being related to the fu***ng TV cartoon, also the old name was when we were kids. One Way Down's more mature and I don't feel like an idiot with the name" - said Chris Ekstedt. They have shared the stage with bands such as L.A. Guns, Gilby Clarke, Taken, Snapcase, Stretch Armstrong and Social Distortion. Most recently they completed their first European tour with Wa**er Records (the German Record Label) and Al Cheapo (punk band from Germany) Between 1998 and 2002 and under the guise of Decepticans, there was a drop off in activity from the band. Not a lot of interest lead to many changes in the band.
Randomly, while doing work for Buddyhead Records, Paul Kostabi contacted Chris Ekstedt to see if there was a band that would fit on a "B Side" of a band he is working with The Willowz. Mr. Kostabi fell in love with One Way Down's music and signed him to his label Artmonkey Records
After enlisting the help of Producer Paul Kostabi (The Ramones, The Willowz, The Shewolves, Youth Gone Mad), One Way Down immediately began re-recording and re-mastering Decepticans album "No Holding Back" into what has become a popular CD called "Scheisse" with new cover tracks of "I Am A Patriot" by Steve Van Zandt, "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley and "Indifference" by Pearl Jam.
Recorded in the Summer of 2005, One Way Down recorded four more tracks for a split CD with Al Cheapo for the European tour called "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”. One Way Down tracks include "Redundant", "Ignition", "Side By Side" and "Liars & Backstabbers". MICHEL SOLIS - Allright (Official Video)
Michel Solis (born June 1, 1960 in Montebello, California), is an American painter, photographer and musician. Solis was interested in music at a young age. He showed an Elvis Presley fascination at the age of 10, followed by a Beatles fascination a the age of 11. The first record he bought was Revolver by the Beatles. He began to teach himself to play guitar by learning Beatles' songs. Michel Solis attend St Benedict school in Montebello up until grade 8 and then moved 7 miles (11 km) away to the town of Whittier. He did not fit into his new school environment and ended up getting into a lot of trouble as a young teenager. After being expelled from high school he drifted to Hollywood during the punk heyday of 1977. In 1979 he landed a job at Tower Records in West Covina, California as the punk and import record buyer (his cousin was already an employee of the store). He was hired after a 15 minute interview which consisted mostly about how much he liked the Beatles. The store manager was also a Beatle fan and spent most of the interview talking about how she saw the Beatles in 1965. While working at Tower Records he met and befriended a local punk rock star named Rik L Rik, who was a regular customer at the very large record store. Soon they, along with a couple of other Tower Records employees, were going to all of the Hollywood punk shows. They also spent a lot of time at Rik's Covina home. After years of playing in short lived punk bands, he eventually joined Thee Undertakers which soon disbanded shortly afterwards. He then started the hard rock punk band Play Dead and released one single "Downtown America" which is long out of print. After Play Dead disbanded, Solis released a solo single under the name Michael Michaelson Jr. which sparked interest from Columbia Records. During this time Michel developed a narcotics habit which took over his life for the next several years. Solis eventually cleaned up and decided to visit old friends in New York City where, by
