With "Maria," cinematographer Ed Lachman ASC, reunites with director Pablo Larraín to bring another complex historical figure to life. Following their striking black-and-white visuals in Netflix's "El Conde" (2023), "Maria" marks their latest collaboration—this time, completing Larraín's trilogy of films exploring the inner lives of iconic women, alongside "Jackie" (2016) and "Spencer" (2021). This latest production, starring Angelina Jolie as Maria Callas, has already been hailed as some of Lachman's finest-ever work earning him a "Best Cinematography" nomination at the 97th Academy Awards.

DP Selma von Polheim Gravesen’s latest project "Schwesterherz" (The Good Sister) is a drama about loyalty, doubt, and the search for truth: "The Good Sister came to life with essential support from ARRI Rental Berlin in Camera, Light, and Grip, providing the technical foundation needed to achieve this film. The Prague camera department was delighted to welcome the students of the One Year Intensive Program in Cinematography from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, along with their mentor Murat Emkuzhev, for a workshop demonstrating 16mm analog cameras. The students had the opportunity to get their hands into the changing bags to load the magazines, they had the chance to lace the cameras and check the gate!

🛫 The ARRI Rental serviced 'Lufthansa a new Travel Experience' was one of the first projects illuminated with the SkyPanel X.
"For the sunny scenes, our key light source was outside the plane. The camera had to move through the business class aisle and the tight windows didn’t allow much natural light. We remotely controlled an 18K ARRIMAX to simulate sunlight and used an M90 bounced into large 40 x 12-foot muslin frames to diffuse the light. To achieve a consistent look, we positioned four SkyPanel S360-Cs outside the windows, with light grids which were rigged on a pulley system to adjust them easily. On the opposite side we had fill light provided by SkyPanel X21s coming through quarter-grids or soft frosts to balance the overall lighting." - Gaffer Albrecht Silberberger.

Munich supplied the production "Scham" ("Shame") with lighting. DP Louis Dickhaut () shot the feature in split screen which enables the audience to watch mother and son closely in their conversations. At the Max Ophüls Festival "Scham" won the price of the Ecumenical Jury. They described it as "a courageous, brittle and stirring film that needs to be talked about." Berlin, Luxembourg, Saarbrücken: In January was up to share knowledge with filmmakers. We offered training to explore Stabilized Remote Heads in Luxembourg in cooperation with ALTA and Alexander Voigt, FoMa Systems ().

ARRI Rental Berlin invited production managers and coordinators to the ARRI Rental Tech Day 2025 to present film technology, special equipment, and how we work as a rental company. Our experts showed cameras, as well as the processes of an optics test, gave a tour of the rental park, showed our lighting equipment, and presented exclusive rental products such as the Hover Dolly on Delta Tracks. The production managers learned about our fleet, and how we support green shooting with RPF and HVO100.

At the Max Opühls Festival in Saarbrücken ARRI Rental Luxembourg supported the Open Class organised by BVFK and BVK on the subject of "MotionCam Essentials", Steffen Ditter provided technical support, Curt Schaller from and Alexander Voigt, FoMa Systems as well as SWIT () were involved.

Alice Brooks ASC first met director Jon M. Chu at USC Film School, where he asked her to shoot his short film, a musical. Since then, they have cemented their working relationship and mutual love of musicals on various projects. Their latest collaboration, “Wicked,” is a towering achievement of musical cinema, receiving 10 Oscar nominations, an ASC nomination for Cinematography, and many more international award nods. Students of the BTS Cinéma et Audiovisuel in Luxemburg had the chance to get to know analog and digital cameras at ARRI Rental Luxembourg just before Christmas. The participants were able to test cameras like the ARRIFLEX 416, ARRIFLEX 235, ALEXA 35 with anamorphic lenses and gained lots of valuable knowledge.
