This holiday season, Anna Rakitina returns to the Malmö Symphony Orchestra on December 19 with a beautiful programme featuring Vivaldi, Stenhammar’s "Midvinter", and the timeless Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky✨

In Dresden, she will lead the Dresden Philharmonic on December 25 & 26 at the Kulturpalast. The programme includes the iconic Violin Concerto by Tchaikovsky, performed by Augustin Hadelich, this season’s Artist in Residence. We are thrilled to announce that Delyana Lazarova has been appointed as the Principal Guest Conductor of the Utah Symphony, starting with the 2025/26 season. Known for her dynamic artistry and visionary leadership, Delyana is set to bring her vibrant energy to the orchestra and the cultural community in Utah.

Delyana shares, “From my very first performance at the Maurice Abravanel Hall, I felt a deep connection with the musicians. Their passion and artistry left a lasting impression, and I’m eager to continue this incredible journey together with the Utah Symphony and their wonderful audience.”

Her debut in May 2024 was met with standing ovations and rave reviews, setting the stage for an exciting collaboration. Known for his ability to connect musical styles, cultures, and eras, Fazıl Say offers performances that transcend the ordinary, creating a space where music becomes a deeply personal and lasting experience.

Following a remarkable recital tour across North America, Fazıl Say returns to Europe to share his singular artistry with audiences in Germany and Italy. His performances will culminate in Istanbul, where he will hold his traditional end-of-year concert at the Volkswagen Arena.

Featuring very different programmes with works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Satie, alongside his own compositions and arrangements (including Wagner's Isolde's Liebestod), Fazıl Say’s performances are a celebration of musical diversity and emotional depth.

Since 2018, Cornelius Meister has been shaping the artistic direction of the Staatsoper and Staatsorchester Stuttgart with remarkable vision and a versatile repertoire spanning from Viennese Classicism to contemporary music.

On November 24, Mozart’s 'Idomeneo' premiered to great acclaim under his baton at the Stuttgart Staatsoper. More performances of this Sturm und Drang masterpiece are scheduled through December 🎭

In between those performances, on December 8 and 9, Meister will lead the Staatsorchester Stuttgart in two symphonic concerts at the Liederhalle Stuttgart. The evening opens with Boulez’s 12 Notations for Orchestra, a work he knows intimately as a former assistant to the composer. The centerpiece of the concert is Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony, one of the great milestones of symphonic repertoire🎶

In January 2025, Meister returns to the Vienna State Opera for Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, with three performances, especially anticipated for Anna Netrebko’s debut as Ariadne✨

On 10 December at 8:00pm, violinist Christian Tetzlaff performs Béla Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB) 🎻

Under the baton of David Afkham, celebrated for his rich and nuanced interpretations, the programme, titled 'Musik für das Jenseits' (Music for the Beyond), explores themes of farewell and the afterlife. The evening also features Franz Schmidt’s deeply moving Fourth Symphony, dedicated to his daughter and performed in honour of the 150th anniversary of Schmidt’s birth ✨🎶

Don’t miss this powerful pairing of Bartók’s poignant violin concerto and Schmidt’s heartfelt symphony. The concert will be recorded and broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur on 17 December.

We’re thrilled to announce that South Korean cellist Jaemin Han will take the stage at the inaugural BBC Proms Korea this December at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul✨

On December 2, Jaemin will perform Donghoon Shin’s Cello Concerto 'Nachtergebung' with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ryan Wigglesworth. He will also perform Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in Busan and a recital of Debussy and Poulenc on December 7 🎻

Before heading to Korea, Jaemin makes his debut with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra tonight in Glasgow, performing Shin’s concerto in its UK

Following her debut in December 2023, conductor Tianyi Lu returns to the podium of the London Philharmonic Orchestra for two evenings of musical magic ✨

In addition to Weber's Oberon Overture, Tchaikovsky's 'Rococo Variations' will be performed by the award-winning cellist Zlatomir Fung. The second part of the concert will feature excerpts from Tchaikovsky's ballet 'Swan Lake'.

These concerts are dedicated to the memory of Sir Andrew Davis, a cherished mentor to Tianyi in the early stages of her career and a dear friend. She honors his legacy by dedicating these performances 'in remembrance of the profound impact he had on so many lives.'🎶
