Andris Nelsons returns to the Salzburger Festspiele with the Wiener Philharmoniker. As part of the resident orchestra's series of orchestral concerts, Nelsons will conduct two matinee concerts of Mahler's epic 9th symphony. The concerts will take place on 10/11 August at 11:00am 🎼🎻🎶

Nelsons will also appear in this year's "Philharmonic Salon", a series of artist talks taking place in the Great Hall of the University of Salzburg on 9 August.

🎻This month, phenomenal violinist Augustin Hadelich returns to Australia and New Zealand for a series of thrilling projects.

Australia Highlights:
▪ Sydney Symphony Orchestra: Enjoy four performances of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto under the baton of Simone Young at the iconic Sydney Opera House from 7-10 August.

▪ Recital: On 13 August, Hadelich performs a solo programme featuring works by Bach, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, David Lang and Ysaÿe.

▪ Chamber Music Project: Returning to Sydney on 15 August, Hadelich leads a chamber music project with musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, including a regional tour with pieces by Shostakovich and Joseph Bologne de Saint-Georges.

We are thrilled to announce the return of conductor Dima Slobodeniouk to Tanglewood for two captivating performances this July! On 15 July 2024, Slobodeniouk will lead the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra at Seiji Ozawa Hall, featuring works by Julia Perry, Leonard Bernstein, and Igor Stravinsky. Then, on 19 July 2024, he will reunite with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Koussevitzky Music Shed, presenting Bernstein's Symphony No. 2 with pianist Conrad Tao and Brahms' Symphony No. 3.

Music Director Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) return to Tanglewood, a premier summer music festival. The opening tonight, 5. July features Nelsons and Gil Shaham performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and the "Eroica" Symphony.

Upcoming programs include soloists like Renée Fleming, Yuja Wang, Augustin Hadelich, Emanuel Ax, Yefim Bronfman, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and Paul Lewis. Highlights include the BSO's collaboration with the Boston Ballet for Stravinsky’s "Apollon Musagète" and a special concert marking the 150th anniversary of Serge Koussevitzky, the BSO's legendary Music Director and Tanglewood founder.

💿 We are thrilled to announce the release of Dima Slobodeniouk's latest recording with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia. BIS Records presents an album featuring Igor Stravinsky’s pieces: "Symphony in Three Movements", "Symphonies of Wind Instruments", and "Symphony in C". Dima was previously music director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia until 2022.

Today Conductor Olari Elts returns to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for a wonderful programme with beloved classics, including Schubert's Italian Overture and Mendelssohn's "Italian" Symphony. In addition, pianist Ariel Lanyi joins Elts and the orchestra in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25.

Along with pianist Jonathan Ware, Han performs a fascinating programme with works by Chopin, Poulenc, Ligeti, Amy Beach and Piazzolla. The concert, presented in an immersive format including interviews, showcases his extensive range of musical styles and youthful yet charismatic personality.
