"Bad Tölz – Mit dem Auftritt des international renommierten Londoner „Doric String Quartet“ im @Tölzer Kurhaus ging die Konzertreihe „Quartettissimo“ in die zweite Saison. Zweifel, dass die von Haydn und Boccherini kreierte Königsdisziplin der Kammermusik außerhalb der Großstadt genug interessiertes Publikum anzieht, erwiesen sich als unbegründet. 🎶
[...] Das Quartett musizierte das Stück [Mozarts D-Dur Streichquartett KV 575] mit einer Balance von Gefühl und Verstand und legte mit fabelhafter Präzision die polyphonen Strukturen frei. Phänomenal und ein ganz außergewöhnlicher Genuss ist ihr nahezu vibratoloses Spiel im alten Stil.
[...] Mit analytisch-bohrender Beharrlichkeit grub sich das Doric String Quartet durch die Abgründe der Musik [des Streichquartetts d-Moll „Der Tod und das Mädchen“ von Schubert], Gänsehaut-Momente inklusive."
