The Abramović Method 💃🏻

Marina Abramović continues to be recognised as a global art icon fronting several of our magazine titles every year. Her cover story in the new “Man vs. Machine” issue is particularly exciting as she learns about and meets ChatGPT for the first time, who joins the conversations with intriguing interview questions and proposals for an Abramovič performance at Glastonbury.

The Travel Almanac explores the topics of traveling and temporary habitation from the personal perspectives of innovative figures in the fashion, music, art, and film worlds. Addressing an increasingly mobilized creative community, it is the first publication of its kind to speak to this sophisticated generation of travelers. The plurality of this community inspires the magazine to focus on individuals‘ personal experiences, and the effects of travel on their lives and work.

The 24th issue of The Travel Almanac, themed “Man vs. Machine”, is again packed with inspiring journeys and conversations, as well as spiritual and tangible travel advice. Includes contributions by and conversations with Marina Abramović, Julia Nobis, Katsuhiro Harada, Uffe Isolotto, Empress Of, Craig McDean, Theo Liu, Robbie Lawrence, Nadine Fraczkowski, Andrew Nuding, Quentin de Briey among others.

A cut above the rest ✂️

is an annual publication which seeks to promote and decipher the techniques and know-how of manufacturing in art, design, architecture of interior, industry or even crafts. Each issue is devoted to a particular manufacturing technique (molding, folding, etc.) which guides the selection of subjects, pieces and interviewed personalities.

Issue 04 – To Cut is out now. Through a historical assessment, reports from factories, the deciphering of savoir-faire, and iconic objects, Tools offers an enquiry into the foldings of yesteryear and the current day, by paying particular attention to those who produce the cult objects of our everyday life and thus convey the histories behind our shared imagination. Vernissage am 17. Oktober 2024, 19-23 Uhr.
Poolstrasse 8, 20355 HH.

Are you stuck in the past or just feeling nostalgic? 👾

All that is new is well-forgotten old – the new “nostalgia” issue is here and form follows function as it includes:
- a pack of adhesive artist stickers
- an official poster
- foldout pages
- a discount coupon inlet
- non-commercial ad features
- and of course interviews, portraits, articles, analyses

Taking an artistically curatorial approach to nostalgia, the issue explores the extent to which looking to the past can serve as a source of inspiration and influence our creative processes. Represented by the entire spectrum of artistic forms of expression, the topic is illuminated from different, even cross-cultural perspectives.
Among others, Tomohiro Kono, hair and wig artist from Japan, video game hacker and inventor of Plaguemon (spin-off of Pokémon), Tim Jacobus, cover illustrator of the well-known GooseBumps book series, come together in the issue. In the spirit of the title „all that is new is well-forgotten old“, Stuck is looking forward to gaining a new understanding of nostalgia, exploring artistic approaches and ways of dealing with it and ultimately developing the very personal effect of the feeling.

Stuck Magazine works to uncover methods of survival and success from the artists themselves, in times of rigidness and in times of growth. Stuck wants to research and learn from these artists, compiling stories and inspirations for the readers. You might identify with the artists or draw motivation from the magazine’s energy and ethos.

Always mindful, always demure 🧤

For an impressive number of 30 issues alreay, has celebrated modern women of style and purpose and offered a fresh and intelligent perspective on fashion.

The new autumn issue is fronted — and how! — by the feminist art icon and theatrical rocker Kembra Pfahler. The linchpin of the New York underground appears in all her glory via a 14-page profile by Cristina Ruiz, with photography by Jamie Hawkesworth and styling by — well — Kembra, whose cheery outlook, “I’m not naked, I’m wearing body paint”, is not shared in all quarters. Hence, two fabulous covers.

Joining Kembra is the director Janicza Bravo (Zola), bringing her “stress comedy” to the streets of Manchester for the BBC; the incomparable brand builder Tory Burch, who is relaxed about the Toryssance engulfing TikTok: “I didn’t realise I wasn’t cool before,” she says; the choreographer Oona Doherty, strutting in waterproofs, and the author Olivia Laing who explores utopian socialism — via gardening.

An exceptional array of fashions include: country manor swagger, two rounds of outerwear, and sartorial proposals for hybrid living from our own editor in chief. The fun Q&As herald good conversation with the footballer Lotte Wubben-Moy, the electronic musician Merry Lamb Lamb and the actors Fiona Shaw and Cush Jumbo. Break a leg, sisters!

I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly 🍭

Serviette is a magazine about food, but not just about the food we eat. It’s about the themes, ideas, conversations and connectivity around the cycle of our food; the language, culture and transformative possibilities of the future of our food; the journey it takes from seed to stomach, and all of the people who helped it along its way. Its mission is to create meaningful, purpose-driven content that drives a more interconnected, circular world of hospitality.

Food is Absurd: In Issue 04, we’re exploring the ways food can be absurd, in all the joyful, incredible, and bizarre connotations of that word. We meet Ireland’s duelling potato chip mascots, separated by a border but not a name. We discover why there’s serious cash to be made in stolen cheese and why lab-grown meat won’t be the solution to our climate woes. We learn about one cranky man’s futile attempt to cancel pasta (in Italy!) and about the unexpected cake skills of Heather O’Neill’s tough-guy dad. And on a food crawl through some of L.A.’s finest Chinese restaurants, we stay safe from the dreaded dumpling sq**rt.

Facepalm galore 🤦🏻‍♂️

Get ready to cringe with the help of the newest issue of our popular meme zine. 🤡

Uwe Lewitzky is a cultural studies scholar based in Zurich, who currently examines artistic questions through the lens of urban life and urban experience. While his cleverly-mad textual works are marked by a sense of formality in design, humour is the foundation of their content. In this way Lewitzky manages to create a productive confusion that enables free thinking and discernment.

Feeling blessed and highly caffeinated …

Standart is an award-winning print magazine dedicated to the beauty of coffee. Every issue is ram-packed with stories of some of the brightest minds in the world of coffee. The new sun-soaked issue seeks to find out whether the golden ratio might hold the formula to the perfect filter basket, and explores why in early 20th-century Sweden, coffee was considered one of the biggest threats to the nation’s health. The issue also features an exclusive interview with the Japanese electronic music duo Satoshi and Makoto, exploring the chances they take in carving their unique sound, and takes you on a walk through Kyoto and philosophize over some of it’s most charming features. 🇯🇵☕️
