OUT NOW: Göran Meyer feat. Mario Navajo - Beyond The Horizon [MYR]

Working mostly on his well-formed label, Goeran Meyer has carved out his own underground niche. His sleek and stylish blend of house and techno showcases his well-crafted synth melodies and lush drum work. It is music that mixes up functional grooves with plenty of meaningful feelings, and that's the case again here as he works with Mario Navajo once more.

The stirring 'Beyond The Horizon' features German-born Mario Navajo, who was last on this label in the summer with a fine solo EP that showcased a distinctive musical style and his heartfelt vocal performances. The Extended Version is a dramatic sound full of cinematic tension with eerie, wiry synths wrapping themselves around an anxious groove. The melodies are unsettling as the deft percussion, and FX dance around the mix. The Mario Navajo Vocal Edit meanwhile rouses the soul with sweeping vocal tones adding some human emotion to the abstract sounds around it.
