Some of you, who are familiar with talent shows, will already be familiar with this band from the South Korean survival music show “Super Band 2”, broadcasted by JTBC (Korean broadcast Channel).

As well, I introduced them already on 2020 at Discomfort Wings and in several radio broadcasts.

Founded 2013 in Seoul with the members Vince Youn (vocal), W***y K (guitar) and Danny Lee (drums), they named fundamental bands such as Mötley Crüe and Guns N Roses their musical influences. After the former bassist left the band in 2018, bass player Cyan entered the group. Like no other band in Rock'n Roll in South Korea, Crack shot had played countless gigs in towns like Itaewon and also played at numerous music festivals in South Korea.

Also in 2014, Crack shot won 6 top prizes in 6 other band competitions, and became the champion of all rookies around the city. Over the years, they released two albums and six Singles. During the Super band 2 TV broadcast, they started a 2nd project named CraXilver with a 5th member through the audition.

The newest single release includes three songs in total and came out on 23rd July 2024. The self-titled song "Go away", "Young & Wild" as well "Night Rider". Each song represents perfectly in vowels the typical Crack shot sounds. With epic electrifying guitar soli, Cyan (bass) and Danny (drums) have as well their significant parts. This single release continuous the atmospheric discography of the best voices of Rock'n Roll!

K-INDIE FESTIVAL • Berlin & Hamburg
The Korean Embassy in Berlin hold some days ago again a concert series of Korean rock bands.The "K-Indie Festival" included 4 bands, who in Hamburg (27th June 2024, Gruenspan) and Berlin (29th + 30th June 2024, Kesselhaus).

I was theire for band KARDI, who performed on 30th June in Berlin and had the opputturny to interview the members before the show as well done the live photos for their performance. Let's taka a throw back to that unfortable evening.

Back story
Some of you from the K-music scene, who are familiar with talent shows, will already be familiar with this band. The members Yeji Kim (Vocal), Leen Hwang (Guitar), Inkyu Hwang (Bass) and Dawool Park (Geomungo) were officially formed after the survival music show “Super Band 2”, broadcasted by JTBC (Korean broadcast Channel).

KARDI unveils exceptional sound and energy, designated to strike the heart of worldwide fans and listeners. In short timeline, KARDI garnered acclaims and popularity worldwide for their performance and rich sounds as each member blended their distinct and unique stories into one. During the last years, the members were featured on diverse tours, festivals and media.

After the members were formed in “Super Band 2”, they directly began to release an amount of records, which were featured on different media such as TV Soundtracks and Games. The following years, band KARDI spent much energy in new tunes and live shows to build up for what they stand today.

Over the years of discovering new bands, Genres and sounds, this evening was so much more that words can not describe. Since over 15 years I'm into the different Asian music subcultures and almost 5 years ago, this blog (re-) started with an Korean Rock band as well. I discovered band KARDI some years ago over the Super band II contest (Korean TV show). All together, the interest, the contact again as in 2022 with the Korean Embassy and the band itself for sure made it to an unforgettable night, and I'm just thankful to be part of it, seeing music is possibility to breaking solitude chains in our daily life and reach out people with similar thoughts.

A special thank you again to the Korean Embassy, the project management and the team, who has been again so kind to me. Thank you really for what we could create, with the things that we made.

I think, it really started a revolution~

Back story
Coma Rossi started their journey 2018 in India, including concerts and local tours. Since then, a lot has changed - the pandemic, a major lineup change and vocalist Gaurav Govilkar displacing between countries for work. He continued his journey in europe and found Diane Galen as new drummer, based from the UK. The duo describes their musical influence from bands like Mogwai, Alcest and Porcupine Tree.

It started with a handful of exciting new demos in early 2020, and from there it was on! Since their inception the band have worked with producers Sahaj Ticotin, Jim Kaufman and Matt Good and they have released 15 singles, one EP and are gearing up to release their first full length album after signing a record deal in early 2024 with SBG Records. The band have collaborated with Hyro The Hero, Nerv, Dropout Kings, Dan Sugarman of Ice Nine Kills and Rainy Terrell of the band Alibis.

They have toured the US numerous times since 2021 with such acts as Twiztid, Eyes Set to Kill, A Killer’s Confession and have also appeared at 3 Danny Wimmer Festivals - Welcome To Rockville, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band have accomplished a lot in their short time together and are excited for what’s to come!

Big news! Im excited to announce, that UK based group The Great Leslie band will come in august to Germany as support act for James Blunt!

Back story
Wow - the Great Leslie band is since 2020, almost the beginning of Discomfort Wings (2019) a band, that I support for many years in radio and features. To see, that you guys really heading over for one concert to the south of Germany is insane!

Based from the capital of England, these four gentleman see themselves in the Alt-Rock scene, combing London vibes with catchy songwriting and production for classic sounds. Started in 2020, the quartet already released 22 Singles, one album and one EP (!) in such a short time. Get a listen to these amazing people!

eaJ is the musical nick name of American musician, singer, songwriter, and composer Jae Park. Born in Buenos Aires, raised in Cerritos, California and of Korean descent, Park first drew industry attention online as a YouTube musician and is best known as a former vocalist and lead guitarist of chart-topping South Korean rock band Day6.

eaJ’s solo project has garnered millions upon millions of views and has collaborated with artists such as MAX, Rich Brian, keshi, Seori, DPR Live, and more.

His latest single “right where you left me” featuring Hindia is a reassuring song written from a flipped perspective of someone who is willing to wait as the other side matures and returns.

Based in Belarus and founded in Moscow, Russia, let's discover today the evolution of an Alternative Rock band, that defined the media almost 20 years in East Europe. NUTEKI connects Europe and Asia in many aspects, such as been part of the Eurovision Song Contest for 4 times.

After 6 years, Japanese Visual Kei artist Kamijo entered again the European stages and filled the sold out Luxor hall on this memoriable 14th June 2024. Lets take a throw back to this outstanding live performance.

Back story
Kamijo is a well-known Japanese singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and a fundamental part of the Japanese Rock music industry since the 90s. He began his career 1995 with the rock band Lareine and made his major debut in 1999. After 13 years, including a brief period, where he was the solo member, Kamijo ended the group in 2006.

After it, he co-founded then Symphonic Power Metal band Versailles in 2007, which was very succesfull during that time in Japan as well overseas.In 2009, he made his second major debut as Versailles. His debut single reached 8th place on the Japanese Weekly Charts. When they paused activities in 2012, Kamijo began a solo career the following year. Versailles resumed activities in December 2015.

Besides his musical projects, he has also been the head of two independent record labels, Applause Records (formed in 2000) and currently Chateau Agency, which was formerly known as Sherow Artist Society from 2006 to 2016. Since starting his solo career in 2013, he has produced many songs with his outstanding composing skills, captiv acting fans around the world. As a solo artist, he has succesfully completed a world tour visiting Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

He then succesfully completed a world tour visiting more than 20 countries, and in 2017, he performed at the Nippon Budokan for the first time as a band. In 2018, he was appointed as an ambassador for the Japan-France Pop Culture Project, which connects Japan and France. He is also active in crossing boundaries, such as collaborating with Hatsune Miku.

After the latest European tour, Kamijo will release the latest mini album "VIOLET DAWN" on July 31st.

Within a very short time, KARDI have secured worldwide recognition and popularity thanks to their rich sound and their rousing stage performances, in which the band members' individual stories flow into one another. In particular, the music video for the title track "WatchOut" from KARDI's 2022 EP album "Chil" was praised not only for its musical level but also for its high visual quality.

In 2023 it won awards at the Prague Music Video Awards and the Liverpool Film Festival. Last year, KARDI expanded their presence abroad with concerts in Hamburg and Vienna.
