In January 2002 we released the first record on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS. Imagine, you are invited to spend a day at the beach together with THE MUMMIES and BLACK LIPS? Sounds trippy and sick to you? Well, then you are right. Put on your best shorts and bring your salamirecorder because SUX SUX SUX are going to blast you. These records spinning weirdos with budget rock attitude and love for sh*tty guitars do it right! Formally known as SALAMI SUX, they have been around for while and come from the gutters of Vienna and St Poelten. MOVIE MOVIE takes the listener on a cinematic journey in their songs. They combine elements of power pop, '60s, '70s, and '80s garage, classic, alternative, and glam rock, but they have a sound all their own, with a focus on strong hooks and melodic vocals.

MOVIE MOVIE was formed in NYC in early 2022 by Derek Davidson (formerly of THE ELECTRIC MESS), and includes former members of other popular NYC and internationally known bands, including Andrea Sicco (TWIN GUNS) and Frank Caira (THE ABOVE), with Alan J. Camlet (also from THE ELECTRIC MESS). They recorded their debut 6 track EP "Now Playing" (Ghost Highway/KOTJ), over the summer of 2022, with the addition of Dave Amels (REIGNING SOUND) on keyboards.

!!We offer a free shuttle bus-service to the venue on Friday and Saturday!!!

Here the instructions:

from the train, tram and underground station "Koeln Deutz/Messe" (1 stop with the tram from the mainstation/Hauptbahnhof - Overground S6, S11, S12, S13 - and close to the underground stop, "Bf Deutz/Lanxess Arena" - metroline U3/U4/U1/U9).
A shuttle-bus is going
from 8pm till 10pm
and from 1am till 4am.
There are 8 seats each way, but don't worry, one way is only 5-7min. The stop is at the "rear exit" of the station "Koeln Deutz/Messe" directly by the tram "S" Line.

Please check it out and go to google maps and/or google earth and search for: "50.941497,6.973538" and you will see the position of the shuttle-bus-station.

Last but not least I have to introduce myself: I'm very proud to be able to look back on 10 years of ballroom bash-festival-history. Thanks for all your support throughout these years and all the happy memories! See you next week - it's partytime!

I have been spinning records over 15 years now and collecting vinyl (exclusively) from the age of 12. I am mainly into the sounds of the 60’s, such as Garage, Psych, R&B, Northern Soul, Beat, R’N’R, Freakbeat, Spanish, French & German Nuggets & Punk Rock from the 70’s up to now. Over the last years I’m a resident DJ in different Clubs in Germany and I have been spinning my 45s in so many different places throughout Germany, Europe and Japan being guest DJ you can’t number them anymore; and on different 60’s/Garage/Mod festivals in Europe like Le Beat Bespoke (UK), Funtastic Dracula Carnival (ESP), Beat Explosion (GER), Primitive (NL), Festival Beat (I), Purple Weekend (ESP), Hangar Rockin’ (CH), Heatwave (F), The 2 Men From L.I.N.Z. (GER), Cosmic Trip (F), GamBeat (ESP), Big Beat Bonanza (UK), Go Sinner Go (ESP), Riviera Affair (F), Kliko Fest (NL), Hipsville (UK) and of course at the Soundflat Records Ballroom Bash (GER). I focus on playing fine dancing tunes from the late 50’s over the 60’s to the early 70s for all those amazing dancin’ and yellin’ madheads that turn the evening into a party. In Cologne I also organize a 60’s dance Club called “Hip Shakin’ Beat Club”
Back in 2001 I started the record label SOUNDFLAT RECORDS.
But I will never sleep, since 2007 I have been organizing SOUNDFLAT’s own festival in Germany: THE SOUNDFLAT RECORDS BALLROOM BASH!
It’s a weekend full of cool bands that appeared on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS, Go-Go Girls, and a selection of brilliant international DJ’s.
Together with my mate Kevin the “K” I also sell orig. 45’s from the end 50’s till end 60’s under the sellername rarejerk45s!

Once again this year, we happily welcome MICHAEL WINK behind the decks, who will play his fantastic records in both rooms at the Ballroom Bash!

In 1988 little Michael Wink tried his first time at the turntables. After several Sixties-nighters (Blow Up Club – Germany) and weekenders in the Rhine-Ruhr-area he organized his first "The Man From U.N.K.E.L.", now known as “The Two Men from L.I.N.Z.”, Weekender in 1992 near Bonn, where the "in-crowd" annually over the Pentecost weekend gathered around from across Europe. Unkel is legendary.
A short time later bookings from all over Germany and the first foreign inquiries from Milan, London, Madrid, Manchester, Antwerp and Vienna followed. Because of his excellent taste in music and his DJ performances with passion, humor and energy he become a popular Soul / Mod DJs in Europe. Now Michael runs two Sixties Club Nights. To name first the Monkey Cave 60s Club with all cool styles from the Sixties and with concerts and second the One Room Paradise Soul & Ska Club.
