Over the last several days, machete-wielding pro-government forces have attacked hospitals, raided universities, and set ambulances ablaze amid the brutal crackdown on nationwide student-led protests in Bangladesh. At least several dozen protesters have been killed, with the death toll continuing to rise. Beginning as a quota reform movement, it has become something much bigger - a revolution resisting the fascist and autocratic rule of the Awami League, which has stayed in power through authoritarian and illegal means for a decade and a half.
