Big thanks to for supporting my upcoming recordings with 2 great LCT 540 S microphones. Those are condensers with an extra low noise floor to be able to capture even the most quiet signals without any interference! I'm really looking forward to work with them and record a piano!

✅ Headphones can be a nice addition and a new perspective on your work!
✅ Depending on your main monitoring, headphones often go deeper frequency-wise and can offer you a better insight in the lowest frequencies!

✅ Different headphones offer different qualities like different monitors do, know them well and know when and how to use them!

Which equipment do you need to record yourself❓❔

✅ If you have a piano at home, you can easily make decent recordings of yourself with these basic pieces!
✅ You need two mics in a stereo setup, ideally a stereo pair of good quality condenser mics!
✅ You need an interface with at least two microphone inputs!
✅ You need a computer with a basic audio software (DAW)!
✅ You need some equipment to connect and support these core pieces like mic-stands and cables!

How to prepare your Solo Piano recording session❓❔

✅ While the preparation and rehearsal of your piece is mandatory, there are some other points you should care about!
✅ Choose your equipment carefully. Some cheaper interfaces and microphones might come with a much louder noisefloor!
✅ Listen to the room and try to get rid of unwanted noises like AC’s, open windows, computer fan noises etc.!
✅ Use a stool that does not squeak!
✅ It might sound funny but: shorten your fingernails! Fingernails clicking on the keys can be very distracting once the piece is treated and low-level noises come up!
