To sweeten your weekend, so to speak, Lodown Magazine will be back with a new episode of their podcast series - this time around it's an in-depth conversation with none other than Shepard Fairey! Available tomorrow afternoon wherever you get your podcasts from. Here's a first teaser for you...
CRAIG WARD - IN THE NAME OF TYPOGRAPHY
Enthusiastic about pushing type to its very limits, this British-born and New York based designer and typographer has been blowing up the boundaries between typography and illustration for quite a while now, creating prolifically new typographic treatments while hardly defending the grasp of the word as an image. Words are pictures - a fitting metaphor for the illustrative, experimental and simply unique work that has seen him smashing panes of glass, playing with perspective and even collecting hair off the floor. He works in a variety of mediums from letterpress and linocut to the purely digital and three dimensional with a client roster that now includes the likes of The New York Times, BMW, EBay and Wired amongst many others. Time for Lodown to invest a little further.
This clip was produced and directed by Audrey Ewell & Aaron Aites.
