Something to look forward to ...

If you’re in Munich on March 31st, it would be foolish to miss out on this one. And if you’re located somewhere else, this actually might be just the right excuse to take a break from your very own four walls and visit Bavaria’s capital. Because, yes, Public Possession is turning 10 years old ...

Almost forgot to post about the things that stuck in 2022...

'Tis the season, isn’t it? During the last twelve months over here at the LDWN headquarters, we’ve watched way too many movies, we were glued to our tele when not reading thousands and thousands of pages or fighting tinnitus from all the new music we’ve listened to in the red. So here’s a li...

If you're in Berlin this week - and we know you are- you should totally drop by at Obey Art Space this Wednesday for a drink!

DAZWISCHEN by Berlin-based photographer Lisa Wassmann.

After bringing the world to a hold over the last two years, it weirdly feels as if the pandemic is done for good. But even though we can use this particular time to regain social contacts, dance again and enjoy our lives, we know that we are just “in between“.
Unfortunately the climate crisis and ongoing wars all over the world never take a break. It seems to be a short summer of taking a breath.

Photographer Lisa Wassmann displays personal works with a focus on this exact feeling. A feeling of worldly dread and despair, that under the right circumstances can be muted for a moment. Her photographies and installations show a scenario of joy, dancing, and the feeling of not being alone in a world that right now seems to be “everyone for themselves“.

Founded in 2012 by Valentino Betz and Marvin Schuhmann, Munich’s very own Public Possession has proved itself to be more like a creative outlet to channel the founders various interests than simply being a record label. Needless to say that their entry for Lodown’s ongoing Monday Mixtape series is as eclectic and unpredictable as you hoped it would be - a laid-back antidote for another weird and hectic week that’s in front of us.

The idea was to emphasize the relationship between music, text, graphic design...

This time around, s**t gets real!

By the end of last year, we had to cancel the solo-show of Planetluke for obvious reasons - which was a major bummer. Now it's finally time to make up leeway - which is totally awesome.

So please join us - Lodown, OBEY Clothing and Mr. Lucas Hunter himself - at the grande opening on April 21 between 6 - 10pm for a chat, a drink or two and, most importantly, some fantastic art to marvel at.

Where: Obey Art Space Berlin, Inselstrasse 13, 10179 Berlin. The exhibition will be on 'til May 2.

The last year and a half didn’t necessarily feel like a walk in the park for the very majority of us, concluding in the unfortunate fact that it actually shouldn’t be so goddamn exhausting just to be alive. And that’s exactly why we close 2021 with THE (SIMPLE) LIFE issue, an essential antidote for a predominately tiring year. It’s bursting with off the cuff visual grandeur, floating off into your subconscious and beyond while delivering a colorful slice of life to prove that things still feel free for those who dream. Highlights include exclusive features on MIKE MILLS, JAMES JARVIS, CODY HUDSON, EVAN HECOX, LISA VACCINO, ROB JABBAZ, DANIELE VITA, JULIEN BABIGEON and many others. Out any hot minute!

It would be great to see you next week for a drink or two! 2G only!
The new show of Lucas Hunter aka PLANETLUKE at the Berlin based Obey Art Space features works he created by deep-diving into his own extensive archive to re-sample previous artworks he made for himself and others. The result is more abstract and moves away from the more literal work he creates for others. “The Art of Stealing“ will also feature a collection of record sleeves designed by planetluke.com and a pop up zine-shop with editions from his own KFAX series.
Where: Obey Art Space Berlin / Inselstrasse 13 / 10179 Berlin // When: Opening Event: Thursday, 2nd of December (6:00-10:00 PM) / Open Exhibition: Friday, 3rd of December - Saturday, 4th of December (12:00-8:00 PM)
