After the Museum in and the in Berlin, +100 attendees visited the exhibition “Behind the Lens: Culture Under Attack” while it was shown at the MiCT Roof.

Featuring the work of more than 65 Ukrainian photojournalists, the exhibit showcased the devastating impact of war on Ukraine’s cultural heritage. Collapsed ceilings of theaters and churches, libraries and books turned into ashes… Yet, amidst the devastation, the exhibition also highlighted the efforts of communities, artists and volunteers working to restore and rebuild. A moving reminder of the power of resilience in the face of adversity.

This exhibition was made possible through a project conducted by UNESCO and the Institute of Mass Information Інститут Масової Інформації (ІМІ) which provided these photojournalists with trainings on safety, cultural reporting and photography skills as well as financial support to document war-related damages to the culture sector in Ukraine. Last week we had the privilege of unveiling 🇺🇦 “Unbroken: 14 Stories of Ukrainian Resilience” 🇺🇦 a thoughtfully curated book 📘featuring powerful stories by young, local and regional from .

Each story offers a first-hand glimpse into how war has profoundly shaped the lives of its protagonists, revealing their remarkable courage and resilience in the face of adversity. These stories also stand as a testament to the extraordinary bravery of the journalists who risked their lives to bring these voices to light.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for this inspiring celebration of , with Ukrainian food, music, and stories, including Viktoriia Mankovska’s, one of the book’s authors, moving reading of her impactful piece.

The book has been curated by the Ukrainian journalist Olesya Nohina, with editing, design and printing also led by a team of talented Ukrainian media professionals.

All media outlets and journalists featured in the book were supported as part of projects designed and implemented by MiCT, with the generous support of the Auswärtiges Amt German Foreign Office. Fellowpress
