Powered by new advances in Air Motion Transformer technology and informed by profound user feedback, the new HEDDphone has undergone a turbo-charged evolution. With a folded Kapton diaphragm over three times larger than in traditional dynamic, planar, or electrostatic driver designs, the sound of HEDDphone TWO has reached new heights with regards to precisely tailoring subtle transients and creating a transparent, natural musicality. Following videos with Robot Koch and Gold Diggers, our latest Los Angeles case study is a conversation with English producer and mixing engineer Blue May. Originally based in London, Blue has made a name for himself over the past decade with production and mixing work for a string of groundbreaking artists on both sides of the Atlantic including Kano, Sudan Archives, and Joy Crookes, whose debut album Skin was short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize.
Today, Blue May works out of a beautiful home space in the Hollywood Hills where he has created the ideal atmosphere for his practice. He discusses what drove his move to L.A., his experience working in traditional studios, and explains how the HEDDphone® offered a new approach and became his main monitoring reference.

Continuing our series of videos from Los Angeles, we visited a recording studio quite unlike any others in a city famed for them: Gold Diggers. Launched in 2018 from the ashes of a historical dive bar and soundstage used by Ed Wood in the 1950s, Gold Diggers is a self-styled music campus featuring a hotel, bar, music venue, and recording studio located in East Hollywood. Blink as you drive past it on Santa Monica Blvd. and you might miss it but behind the unassuming facade lies a jewel for anyone who likes good food, good times, and good sound.
Dave Trumfio, studio partner, and Simon Horrocks, studio manager, give us the lowdown on how the campus came together, how the studio offers a uniquely intimate recording experience to artists, and why HEDD speakers have been an integral part of it since the beginning helping to bring new life to recording and listening sessions for Spotify, Apple Music, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish as well as ensuring that the music made in Gold Diggers sounds great wherever it’s heard next.

A broadcaster who has hosted interviews with some of the biggest artists in the world (such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar. J Cole, and Skepta, etc.), a successful book author («Hip Hop Raised Me» with a foreword by Public Enemy’s Chuck D.), and producer. His latest single 'Scary' features Cozz and Twitch 4eva. Semtex has been breathing and amplifying Hip Hop culture since growing up in Manchester, where he started promoting parties and DJ’ing very early on.

The Bridge has it all: A beautiful selection of acoustic instruments (incl. a Steinway B grand piano), separate recording booths, a custom built content creation hub, and plenty of mouth-watering vintage outboard wired to an iconic Harrison 4032C console (yes, from the same series that the Thriller record was recorded on).
