Dangerous Drums

Dangerous Drums Berlin based Event series started Dec 98, Label in 2000, Co-run by Dj Vela & ED2000. Specialised in this should, if all goes well, be available in april 2015.

After 13 years at the legendary Maria am Ostbahnhof, where we held the box office record at their first location, and the record for longest running and most staged event series in both their locations, we are honored, to have our new homebase ! If that sounds over the top to you, you dont know your Club history ! "Tresor meets Dangerous Drums" takes place in the legendary downstairs rooms

of this hallowed location, 4 times a year. Since we moved to Tresor at the start of 2011, we have been very fortunate in taking UK techfunker Meat Katie on board as our second British Resident and Dangerous Drums team member ( alongside Mr Barry Ashworth, who was the first non Berliner we invited to be resident after he overcame illness and extreme fatigue to get himself to Berlin to fullfill his date and excell at our 40th big night out celebrations ! - one of our milestone nights without a doubt ) . The evolving Dangerous Drums sound fits perfectly to the full on no nonsense sub culture vibe of Tresor. The Berlin resident team consists of Dj Vela ( co founder and co boss of the Dangerous Drums project whose expertise and clarity of vision is a big part of why Dangerous Drums has achieved such longetivity ), Berlin legend Tanith ( who came up with the name back in 98 ), Arzt ( who taught Ed2000 how to promote ...properly... with the succint statement "du weiss garnix alte!" ( also back in 98 ), and Rollin Thunder whose inimitable third turntable wizzardry turns any Dj set into a live, one time, you never heard this before, remix session . Dj Vela and Rollin Thunder now perform together at every event having truly stunned the audience with the outstanding excellence of their team work at Tresor, during the December 2011 event . In addition, the most prolific artist on our label of the same name, Dj Soulhunter, is also resident and label manager. We have worked together closely with Berlins MultiMat crew, for a decade, and some of their artists, Basskim and Stephan Krietsch were regular guests at our Dangerous Drums events. Due to the nature of our mission, to showcase whats fresh and upfront in Bassline driven Club Culture, its Djs and its producers, we have hosted the Berlin Debuts of: Dj Icey. Meat Katie, Elite Force, Kode 9, Evil 9, Horse Power Productions, Rennie Pilgrem, Missill, Lee Coombes, Soul Of Man, Plump Djs, Pinch, Radioactive Man Live, Mumdance, and many others. To Celebrate our 16 years anniversary in Dec 2014 @ tresor, a very limited edition teeshirt and hoody are being produced , listing every single video artist, dj, & musician who we have presented thus far. since 2014 we have shifted our focus to a more techno dubstep fusion driven sound, as the breaks we loved for many years no longer hit the mark for us, and the fresh new wave techno being produced
by the uks young up and coming dubstep devotees displayed the attitude, vibe and evocative poweres that dangerous drums first evolved from and announced itself to be a home for. immense and heartfelt repsect and thanks goes out as always to those people who grace our events with their invaluable presence, and whose free time and financial resource is accepted by us, with a full awareness of its worth and its value, both to us at dangerous drums, and the people who give it, and for whom it is after all in this busy digitalised world we live in, a limited resource. without you and your support we and our fellow artists, who we are proud to and whom we feel bound to present, to and for you, would have no platform and subsequently a far lesser reach and scope in the communication of their "in the zone" contemporary soundcraft, and the art and culture of which it is, for us, the heart beat. thank you ! watch this space !

Our Story

After 13 years at the legendary Maria am Ostbahnhof, where we held the box office record at their first location, and the record for longest running and most staged event series in both their locations, we were honored, to have our new homebase @Tresor where we stayed for 6 years! Now in 2019 we are very pleased. and feeling priveledged be able to say that our homebase has now become 2 homebases, one is the Gretchen Club in Berlin, the other Der Weisse Hase.

On Nov 30th 2018 we celebrated 20 Years Dangerous Drums at Berlins Gretchen Club. Thats 20 years, 200+ guest artists alongside our local residents on rotation, over 100 events in 12 different countries, 100 artists released on our imprint, many of them for the first time, some of them as a stepping stone to seriously successful full time dj/producer careers, all of them loved, cherished and appreciated as jewels ine the crown that is a thriving life affirming ever evolving contemporary subculture for sound and vision.

Since then we started “dangerous drums roots” in box 2 at gretchen, to allow our djs and special invited guests to play a set that shows how they arrived at where they are today , musically speaking. In Der Weisse Hase we have the perfect venue for the Techno end of our current musical spectrum. 2019 also see us with our own truck on “zug der liebe”. immense and heartfelt repsect and thanks goes out as always to those people who grace our events with their invaluable presence, and whose free time and financial resource is accepted by us, with a full awareness of its worth and its value, both to us at dangerous drums, and the people who give it, and for whom it is after all in this busy digitalised world we live in, a limited resource. without you and your support we and our fellow artists, who we are proud to and whom we feel bound to present, to and for you, would have no platform and subsequently a far lesser reach and scope in the communication of their "in the zone" contemporary soundcraft, and the art and culture of which it is, for us, the heart beat. thank you ! watch this space !
