Heartcore Records is Kurt Rosenwinkel's company dedicated not only to releasing his own music but also to find and support great artistry around the world.

Why did i start a record company? Because i was tired of hearing no for an answer. tired of people tell me that my music doesnt fit into convenient genres that were invented to target audiences for the purposes of advertising. I will create my own genre and market the MUSIC to people who like music for music’s sake. I reject the idea that music is just a vehicle to market other products and has no

value in and of itself. Thats where we are today in America- Clear Channel bought the radio stations and invented musical categories in order to sell advertising space, delivering targeted demographics to advertisers through these new “Genres”. Then they bought all the Music Venues, turning them into captive audiences-not for the music-but for the advertisers who would target these audiences while at the performance. Thats why theres only 5 songs on the radio, all across the country. Its Totalitarian in nature, and if you don’t fit into this paradigm, you will always get a “no”. I reject that. I will create my own company that exists totally outside of that, establishing my own brand that exists for the sake of humanity and music. Heartcore Records will be a beacon of light in a desolated landscape, going directly to the people, making and yes- selling music- to people who love music, for musics sake. Bless,

“A Life Unfolds” is a delicate, minimalist song that has chordal structures that unfold like origami paper. Kurt says “Some of my songs have this feeling of soul evolution or the melancholic nostalgia of life itself. It’s the feeling of the seasons changing, life progressing, transitions, beginnings, and endings.”

The album will be available on July 26th and you can already pre-order it on Heartcore Records website and Bandcamp.

We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our Heartcore Records family - Alain Apaloo.
Alain Dodji Apaloo

Alain’s upcoming album “Naked” captures the artist in his most intimate setting: solo guitar and voice, his foot lightly stomping, creating a captivating atmosphere much like his performances in the famed Copenhagen club “Mojo”. It is a stark and striking transference of magic and connection through the timeless medium of the blues, performed by a musician of great magnetism and irresistible joy. The album includes guest appearances by the incredible rising star firebrand Marcus King on two tracks. “Naked” will be released on September 13th, 2024, on Heartcore Records.

Alain Apaloo is a guitarist, singer, bandleader and composer from Togo, Africa who is currently based out of Copenhagen, Denmark. His unique fusion of West African music with blues and jazz traditions, and his soulful voice and guitar playing has won him a diverse international audience. His early affiliation with Togolese blues singer Jimi Hope and subsequent tenures in Kwame Yeboa’s Sakra band and with famed Ghanaian Afro-Pop artist Kojo Antwi allowed Apaloo to tour extensively throughout Europe and North America.

In 1999, Apaloo moved to Copenhagen to study at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory. He graduated in 2005 and quickly became a mainstay performer and jam host at Mojo Blues Bar, Copenhagen’s legendary blues venue. He leads a variety of projects, including the Alain Apaloo Trio, Mezzy Slide & The Crew, and APT3. Apaloo’s world music and jazz project ApiPipo, won the Danish World Music Award for their album Floodgate (2009), and their album Nunya (2015) – released in collaboration with Kurt Rosenwinkel – was received with widespread critical acclaim.

Alongside his own projects, Alain Apaloo is also a prolific touring and session musician, collaborating with musicians throughout Europe including Rasmus Lyberth, Gitte Hænning, MonkeyRat, Marianne Bitran, Simon Spang-Hanssen, the Kenn Lending Blues Band. In 2023, he performed on stage at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival as the second guitarist and vocalist in Kurt Rosenwinkel’s band.
