Das Trio Rap & Vogue aus der belarussischen Hauptstadt Minsk in der Kunstschule Minerva. Mit ihrer theatralischen Performance „The Abduction of Europe“ spielen sie nach allerlei Euro-Soundklischees. Dabei singen sie auf Deutsch, Spanisch, (Weiß-)Russisch, Polnisch und Französisch. Eine extreme Elektropop-Revue mit schriller Performance.

Rap&Vogue (opening photo and photo above) comes from Minsk, Belarus and looks like a lost theatre company. That does the trio a great disservice, because they give the most absurd total performance of Eurosonic. For far too few people in – how appropriate – art academy Minerva. With the music theatre performance The Abduction of Europe and under the motto ‘Life is nothing more than absurdism and Belarusian pancakes (draniki)’ Rap&Vogue literally plays with stereotypes from European countries. In which they sing in German, Spanish, (Belarusian) Russian, Polish and French as a common thread. Extremely danceable, almost kitsch electropop supports the hilarious performance from start to finish. Visually there is too much happening to mention, such as a living statue of the French philosopher Dennis Diderot, or money and stars that disappear into the audience. Rap&Vogue gives by far the most exciting performance of the day, and deserved a much bigger audience.

Rap&Vogue are music video directors and musicians Dmitry Levkovsky and Masha Monakova from Minsk, Belarus. The third member of R&V is the enigmatic and strange performer Bark.
They create provocative electronic music, reinforcing it with visual images, as well as shamelessly mixing popular genres (electronic, pop, dance, techno, disco), different languages (French, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian) and stereotypes about world cultures.

Rap&Vogue will present “The Abductors of Europe” - an audio-visual pop art project that balances on the edge between mainstream and contemporary art. It features ironic electronic music that combines various genres, trends of popular culture, and languages.
