+PANIC — Kosmograf
Originally created for the Humboldt Labor exhibition, we developed a custom version of the +Panic-swarm-system for this impressive and extraordinary display of the Kosmograf.
Five different types of fish with different behavior and appearance fill the volume of the Kosmograf and hypnotizingly surround his LED skin with never-repeating movement patterns.
From time to time, the harmonious movements are broken by generative invisible hunters who startle the swarm. These impulses transform the Kosmograf for a short moment into a colorful and overwhelming play of colors to calm down again soon.

+PANIC – An interactive large-scale projection of a school of fish that senses the space around it and reacts to it. 🐟🐠🐡
A fragile system in absolute balance as long as we do not interfere.
An audio-visual dialogue between the swarm and the visitor.
Thousands of digital fish live in the foyer of the exhibition After Nature and interact sensitively with the visitors and their behavior. This interactive projection symbolizes the main theme that will be treated in the exhibition: Interactions and crises of natural and social systems.
Already live since two years and open to the general public, we finally found the time in the last weeks to put together a thick package of making of material, videos of the development-process and visuals about the technology behind this interactive swarm. We will be releasing all of this here over the next few days.
For those who can't wait, you can find a complete documentation on our website.
At this point huge thanks to all who were involved:
Kling Klang Klong for the great sound design.
Insideoutside for the stunning exhibition design and the canvas for +Panic.
The Humboldt Lab for the exciting and extremely relevant exhibition at the Humboldt Forum Berlin.
Many thanks to Pawel Romanczuk (Science of Intelligence HU Berlin) for the inspiring workshop.
Christian Hergarten for the invaluable media planning support.

When machine intelligence is praised as an inevitable and necessary technology of the present and future, one should ask: What are we hoping for? And what price are we willing to pay?
CHOM5KY vs CHOMSKY is a mixed reality installation that invites visitors to have a thought-provoking encounter with Artificial Intelligence.
