Why does jack of all trade succeed at being a master of none?
Grab a seat and I will tell you why.
I have noticed that often times, we tend to be versatile, more of generalists than specialists. We do not want to be lacking in anything. Humans want to know it all and have it all because that is obviously what the world we live in today, is gradually driving us at.
There is that pressure to be everywhere all at once.
“You have to be everywhere. You need to have all the skills. This is what is trending currently, jump in asap.
Your opportunist antenna is so dull, mehn!
“Practice makes perfect but ain't that practice making you slow? What has it fetched you, bruv?!”
Words like these are what we hear every day. They have become a norm.
But what good have these daily pressurizing chants done to us?
They have given us nothing more than half-baked experiences, zero mastery, low expertize, complexity, lack of productivity and constant work melt down.
There is no problem without a solution. A jack of all trades, who is widely known to be a master of none, might sometimes be better than the jack who is a master of one trade.
