We are so thrilled to announce and welcome our newest MATCH Family member: JULIA PATEY () 🤍
So Happy to have you on board.

Julia started her filmmaking career in Canada at the age of 6, making fake commercials with her siblings on their family camcorder. This passion carried her through her bachelor of fine arts in Vancouver, where she studied philosophy and film production, experimenting with visual storytelling and photography. In 2013, she left her homeland behind and set off for Berlin in pursuit of new inspiration.

Julia’s work aims to create a sensual experience for the viewer using immersive cinematography and ASMR-like sound design. Her aim is to get under the viewer's skin, to show the familiar in a whole new way, augmenting reality by focusing on the details. For her, storytelling is the dance between the whole and the parts, the wide and the macro, the objective and the subjective.

Since her move to Berlin, Julia has worked on commercials for many well known clients.

These days, Julia can be found sipping coffee and scribbling in her notebook or going for a run around Prenzlauerberg. She is currently making commercials, short films, music videos and writing her first feature film.

Alexander is a Berlin based director who's work is an attempt of using moving imagery to question the hyperrational and to dive deeper into the mysterious realm that subconsciously connects us all. Striving for conceptual compositions and the wide range of human experience, he developed a sensitive handwriting that he expressed in various short films and documentaries. Avoiding categorisations he is convinced that the most fruitful collaborations come from a shared sense of process-based thinking and establishing a trustful work environment on set.
