25th May is World Interiors Day. This years main focus is the „Growing Generational Gap: Improved Multi-Generational Future“. Architect Christian Spohn (.spn) shared a project he designed in Zweibrücken, Germany.

It serves as a link between several generations by incorporating typical regional architectural elements of the past in Rhineland-Palatinate that come to life through materials and contemporary techniques. The family home is in-between a historical village and a newly developed area.

The main colours are grey, green and pink. Walls of concrete are a reference to natural stone, glass doors are reminiscent of barn doors. The interior is dominated by clever built-in solutions in minty green and pink which contrast the exposed concrete.
