Join us for the upcoming IDF Industry Session: Who is Who in Docu Shorts 2022: Meet the Festivals with Afsun Moshiry (Programmer of shorts at Kasseler Dokfest and a producer of short and feature-length documentaries), Enrico Vannucci (Artistic Director at Torino Short Film Market and Programmer of Pardi di domani Selection Committee at Locarno Film Festival), Karol Piekarczyk (Artistic Director at Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival and Head of Film Distribution at Against Gravity). Moderated by Emilia Mazik (freelance film programmer working with several short film festivals and the Head of Industry at Kaboom Animation Festival).
Who is Who in the Documentary Industry 2022: Meet the Markets
Join us for the second edition of the IDF Industry Sessions' pre-recorded WHO is WHO, where we will introduce you to the representatives of five European documentary film markets and industry platforms that regularly select projects from the CEE region. Get to know them and hear about the setup and approach of each of the platforms, the kind of the projects they are looking for and how to engage with them. Director Martin Páv and producer Zuzana Kučerová (Frame Films) will talk with documentary expert and tutor Iikka Vehkalahti about the process of creating the film and the festival journey.
True Story: How I Became a Partisan (Vera Lacková)
Director Vera Lacková talks about the origins of her film How I Became a Partisan. Her search for and revealing of the stories of Romani partisans is based primarily upon the life story of her great-grandfather; Romani partisan Ján Lacko. The autobiographical quest brings the director closer to the previously unpublished facts concerning our history and discovers stories about people, who regardless of their different ethnic origin, stood united against evil.

Ivana Pauerová Miloševičová talks about her new documentary Peculiarity of Fisherman's Soul about a group of Czech men fishing in Norway. The film, which is part of the East Silver Caravan, was screened at the 25th Ji.hlava IDFF.
Taymour Boulos could not be with us to receive the Silver Eye Award 2021 for his short documentery Sounds of Weariness, so he sent us this video which the audience at Ji.hlava IDFF could see during the Ceremony.

The story of Tomas, who tries to become a computer programme after working for 25 years as a coal miner, was regonised at DOK Leipzig, Ji.hlava IDFF, FIPADOC among other festivals. In this interview, you will also learn about Jindřich's upcoming project. A New Shift was developed within Ex Oriente Film workshop and is part of East Silver Caravan.

True Story: Grief (Andrea Culková)
Andrea Culková's documentary Žal žen /Grief openly explores the feelings experienced when we see the balance between the planet and human beings threatened by imminent climate collapse. The first film in the documentary series “Love & Rage” is mostly about members of Extinction Rebellion and mainly about women: director Andrea Culková finds that it is often women who perceive and experience climate change in a more immediate, pressing way.
